I still have you in my list of friends, (Please don’t be shocked or surprised by that)... and your color (or colour) has nothing to do with it. Your race in SL has nothing to do with it either. It has everything to do with you being the wonderful YOU that you are! It hurts me to know that you have been hurt...you have three friends, AR, mute/ignore, and Me!

And I can say with a clear conscience, I never took place in, nor agreed with those who attacked Jig...For that matter, I never agree with anyone who is attacking anyone, not even if it is justified in their minds. Even intolerance of the intolerant, is in itself intolerable! (if THAT makes any sense).

There's an old adage among my people that basically says 'if you scratch it's because you itch.' In other words, I didn't name any names then anyone who felt guilty enough of what was said would surely show it by doing exactly as this person did above.

I guess it must be the "in" thing nowadays, the latest fad, writting down I'm being put back on ignore. Like if I was on some type of parole and now I'm being locked up again. Do you guys compare notes on this? Maybe have some type of race to see who says it most? Yeah, I can see it now.

Well ever since I first tried out SL, even before I HAD a Main, I have always had a Black av, & used ta get "nigger" this and that a few times a week. Not to mention, once I signed up w/ my 1st main, my avs reflected my big ole hobby of havin been in, around & watching so many subcultures over the years, so not wearin "Ecko" jeans, big bling chains, and havin mohawks or whatever just put a big ole target right over my head.

What happened in MY case, was I got griefed SO MUCH, that almost nobody believed me, and I learned ta Mute, ignore, AR with screenshot while telling them & watchin 'em run/fly away, etc.

When I played other games I almost always had a Black av too, & in the MMORPGs when I would start a low lvl character, about 75% of the time, somebody new would chase me around, "kill stealing" every single time, & I'm an "Alt-aholic" on MMORPGs.

Pretty much the answer is YOU gotta deal with it, don't let it get to ya, cause there's always gonna be more boneheads.

Nice ta see the Community is pretty supportive this time, usually this issue got a lotta flames in the past, or "that doesn't happen!"

I ain't watched TV in years, maybe world-wide racism has changed that much huh. Nice.

I don't think it would matter what anyone writes in as if they aren't accepted the responses would nullifiy whatever topic the op puts in. Wisecracks and topic derailment usually seems to accomplish the job. It happens all the time, you know this.

Just because racism is more of a serious issue than SL specific ones.

The person who made the racist comments probably feels the same way about RL people's skin color ...

Or is at least crude enough to use it as an attempt to cause Jig distress.

The best way of keeping abreast of good rules is to try a bit of common sense.

There are two ways (at least) of saying "I hate niggers" to a black person.
1) The two of you are involved by agreement in a conversation about attitudes
2) You walk up to them and say it out of the blue

(1) Is trolling in a debate. It is an offensive way of sharing your thoughts, but is at least in context.
(2) Is out and out racist.

Well, you have the ability to say it, but saying it (meaning it) to anybody at all in any context at all would mark you out as an intolerant racist.
