From: Doomsday Sorbet I like to go swimming. I see places in a different way from in the water. Floating while watching a sunset seems very "real" and is relaxing. Ahh... Turtle Island is a calming build. Lots of mountains and woods. Where is this Forum Cartel?? SLURL please?? http://slurl.com/secondlife/Allana/145/54/36/?title=Forum%20Cartel%20Hangout

I am in SL strictly for fun and relaxation so pretty much wherever I am is a favorite place.
I don't go to social venues much, I generally stick to solitary pursuits or RP, but I do go to Frank's Place and The Savoy for the Jazz. I also recommend the Grease Pit Cafe, Home of the BearInTheMorning Radio Show. It's a live Internet radio show that Bear does from the cafe most mornings from 6-9 AM SLT. It's just good old Rock and Roll with assorted goofiness thrown in and is a lot of fun. I don't get there enough, but Bear is a friend, and would love to have you drop by.

I have to say im really happiest spending time on our two Etopia Sims. There is to much there! I love dancing in the forest amoung the fireflies with sun set to midnight. I love sitting on the tire swings and overlooking the ocean. I love being inside my beach cottage and seeing the water out the windows. I love hanging out with friendly people I know or who ive just met. Sometimes I just sit and greet people because it is nice to meet new visitors as they come in.
I also love going to the different places that i hear of and exploring. Sometimes those hidden gems are the most fun to hang out in...but generally they tend to be places on the water. I do love the reflections sims...and there is a cute little island near The Pier with some cuddle spots. Now that i think of it, there are too many to mention LOL

I am usually found at my own little known slice of heaven - The Black Orchid Club & Hangout in Tamsi. If not there or at my home then sometimes I am at the Cartel Hangout.
I can highly recommend Madhu's Cafe too though I have only been once so far.
Some other good places to hang out are The Blarney Stone in Virtual Dublin and NCI Kuula as previously mentioned (used to go there very often, not so much these days).

I have a list! This is a list of super places to explore in Second Life featuring the best of my explorations. It's not a fancy list but does have Slurls for all locations listed. Enjoy http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User:Ravenelle_Zugzwang

I was'nt going to add here but after reading through the posts I guess my only hang out is here in the forums. Admittedly at first only because the borin' place stopped normal play I hit the road on day one and have travelled them since and more often than not log in where I log out "Region not currently availlable" permitting.

From: Snickers Snook Shouldn't that be a colon and not a semi-colon? One of my favorite hangouts is a place called 'Resident Answers' where the people seem to be mature, intelligent and courteous, quite uncommon on most message boards. (/em sneaks in and quietly fixes it.)

Hobo island when I'm feeling social. Random empty area's when I'm just thinking. Random empty area's when I alter my avatar. Suffugium is my favorite area, for anything.

I've tried just roaming, but quickly find that no matter where I click on the map.. it's some far out place, that quickly runs out of land to fly over or walk through. Baffles me, lol.
Might check out the Forum place sometime.. I'll just be sure to wear a bullet proof vest to protect myself from those of ya that don't like me =x

I have met fun, friendly people who like to text chat and don't use much chatspam at the Bubblegum Music Factory. I have never been ostracized for the appearance of the avatar I am wearing or unfairly prejudged in any way at The Bubblegum Music Factory. The main drawback is that is can be empty during the middle of the night SL time.
The Shelter is a VERY warm, friendly, and accepting place, and is usually occupied 24/7. The decor is bright and cheerful - no smoky darkness or black/red motif. There are gaudy colored flashing lights on 2 of the dance floors, but they can be avoided. The main drawback there is the preponderance of n00b talk.

The beach next to True North Designs or the Nature Park with waterfall above the store complex. Either place is great to just sit and relax.
I also enjoy going to Turtle Island and paddling one of the canoes around the waterways.
ACS Island(American Cancer Society sim) has 2 new beach areas, a small bay with seating, and other spots for just looking out at the view.

The only time I went to ACS was for meetings and ended up in...well, meeting rooms. I'm glad to hear about the beach areas. Will check that out!

When I am not at home, I likely can be found at: Forum Cartel Hangout. Lots to do here, both indoors and outdoors. Sometimes I go there, just to sort inventory, since I know that someone will show up sooner or later to keep me company My friend Kit's digs I used to go to Madhu's, but haven't been in a while. Must remedy this! Exploring the SL Botanical Gardens and Straylight. Any garden, really. I go to a lot of botanical nurseries, too. Very peaceful, walking among the flowers and trees. And of course, there's always SHOPPING.

Treasure Quest Isle....beautiful, and its all decorated up for Halloween now. There's also a group you can join there to be a part of the monthly treasure quests. If you check out the pirate ship there it gives you all the info.

One thing Ive enjoyed about SL is the ability to listen to music all around the world, and pretty well any style as well.
Im still new enough to love the dances (got 43 sine wave dances and counting in my huddle) so often find it fun just to find a dance club and hang out. I'll look for something different like a Jpop or Industrial or Jazz or whatever ....sometimes I just want to listen to good old 80's and 90's rock anthems.
I also like to listen to some of the live musicians who play in SL, some are very very good.
As for a Favorite hangout, I sould say Sanctuary Rocks or Club Industrial are my current favorites, mostly because they are run 24 hours a day, have friendly staff, are not primarily concerned with sex and no matter what time you show up there is something going on.
