I'm referring to the way the community in SL has come to use the word Bot.

The bot actively doing anything hasnt been a requirement.

That may be the origin of the word but English isn't exactly known for being a static language, especially when it comes to geekspeak. Except when it is static.

In this context, a bot is any program that connects to the grid to perform some automated task.
