I wouldn't bet on that - we have lots of big mouth foreigners spouting crap all the time over here. Granted, we have a lot more of the big mouth citizens doing it, but we do get all kinds here.
Right up until the foreigners leave and try to go back in again. I understand that was the reason why John Lenon wouldn't leave there.

I've always felt Foreigner was an overrated band anyway.

I thought the Netherlands and Belgium both have higher population densities than Britain.

Just checked on Google:

Average population densities:

Netherlands: 395/sq km......Belgium: 344/sq/km......UK: 245/sq/km

If you just take England, as opposed to the UK, the average density is 383/sq/km, which is still lower than the Netherlands.

I was somewhat surprised to discover that Germany is almost as densely populated as the UK, with 233/sq km.

I read some statistics from direct.gov that says we expect to be overtaking the Netherlands before the next census! I'm surprised about Germany too - but I think they have had large scale immigration similar to the UK.

I think people in the US do not appreciate how much physical space they have. I used to laugh at the idea of people in America parking their car at one end of a car park and going into a shop - and then coming out and driving to the other side of the car park to go to another shop. But then when I visited the States and saw the sheer size and distance, this suddenly didn't seem so silly. The roads are so very wide and the buildings have so much space between them - you just don't see that large scale here. When I returned and came out of the airport and on to the main road, it seemed small and narrow and all the buildings close in and on top of each other. The UK looked compressed and very crowded and grubby in comparison - and that was just after a 3 week holiday in Florida!

I just watched the TV news and it was reported that Savage is going to sue for defamation. :D

Some of us are old enough to remember when Reagan granted amnesty to illegals back in the '80s. I was living in southern California at the time. Reagan promised us that if we all went along with the program, he'd stop the influx of illegals into the US and we'd have fewer taxes in the future. What amnesty did then was to send the state into a downward spiral and it has never recovered. What us tax payers got out of the deal is more taxes that went to non-tax payers to get free medical, education, housing, food stamps, welfare, etc.,...and you didn't have to be a citizen to get all the freebies. That's still going on today.

I'm sick of paying for everyone else's free ride, and I'm adding politicians who waste our money on ridiculous pork or insist on being pampered at the tax payer's expense in with the rest of the tax burden.

One thing we will be getting with our taxes very soon is 800 new IRS agents, just in case you're thinking about not paying in the future.

I think there are a lot of people in the UK who feel the same way - and that must have seemed like a slap in the face for those people who had legally emigrated to the US!

There are many many many people out there that I absolutely abhor what they say and believe, and I would most definitely not have them saying such crap in my house. However, I will follow the original American intention and fight for their right to say it in public. The minute they lose that right, my right to disagree in general with whatever is currently politically correct will soon be lost also.

I'm with you, LittleMe; however, the U.S. isn't far behind. I've been following the "Fairness" (or rather "Unfairness Doctrine";) closely which is, from what I understand, an attempt to shut down talk radio of those who don't agree with the government line.

I see no deportation of illegals from south of the border crashing the economy of the South any time soon.

I suppose if you limit the south to five Eastern states, you might come to that conclusion. :-)

Wups. I didn't mean to derail this thread or turn it into a free speech in America thing. I just wanted to point out that foreigners to a country aren't afforded the same rights as citizens (or those of official landed status).

In America, they are. Not for nuthin'.
