Is Religion this important?

Not in SL, for the most part. Except for those Philip Linden worshipers.

From: Kokoro Fasching
Wouldn't one think their their creator would want them to use all that was given to them, including their brains?!?

I believe that the divine Philip created this world for us to explore to the fullest extent of our abilities. That includes using my superior canine brain, yes.

P.S. This other world that I think you're referencing - I don't want to go there. I feel more safe and warm here.

/me runs off to chase things in my doggie dreams.

Contrary to some appearances, this is not the General Discussion forum over on SLX and I really wish we had a mod willing to enforce the rules of this damned forum so people who actually have questions about SL could ask them without having the front page cluttered with this nonsense.

Was this going to be the Friday thread? *Was* it the Friday thread for a very short time? Is it still the Friday thread?

not our standards that are low, it is the standards of LL and how they wish to treat these forums that has slipped into the sewer with the rest of the garbage

/me posits that they are giving us enough rope to hang ourselves. We *could* always demonstrate our maturity and instigate a voluntary self-regulation regime by electing our own moderators and accept the authority with which we imbue them.

Pep (I would nominate Aeslyn, Mari, and as a countervailing force, Brenda)

Then don't read it.

I wish we didn't have post from intolerant people posting nonsense about the subject of peoples posts.

It can be argued that these forums slipped into the sewer the day General Discussion was closed.

But i like this place enough to not compare it to garbage because if i thought it was garbage i would not be posting.

Then take your own advice and don't read it. As for intolerant? Pot. Kettle. Black. Those of you accusing me of, OMG, wanting the damned rules here followed don't even know what the OP was about, do you? It was about religion, abortion and raped teens. Now tell me again that I was out of line. Oh wait, you and Nina would like nothing better than to start that up here, wouldn't you? Her being banned from SLU wasn't enough, was it? And what does any of this have to do with Second Life? Not a damn thing.

O.K.: You were out of line. Since when did you become a moderator of these forums? If you want to be a forum police officer, go start your own forum.

What does Nina being banned from SLU have anything to do with this? Why would i want to start up an abortion thread here? I guess in all your high intellect you did not know that nina and i have opposing views on abortion - duhhh - so that shows how much you know about either of us, though you have no problem bringing us up as if you had half an idea of our positions.

And if you ever followed anything on SLU then you should know i *NEVER* debate the topic at all since its ultra-polarizing - and I definitely would not begrudge someone starting the topic here.

You can take your uptight attitude and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

I guess this thread wasn't the place to act as a voice of reason . . .

Funny, you accuse me of wanting to be a forum police officer because I took issue with a post. What do you think you are doing? Why, the very same thing. Oh, the irony. So delicious. As for the rest of your questions. The answer is simple. None of it belongs here on the SL forum devoted to Resident Answers. That was my point to begin with. So glad you finally noticed it. The OP certainly realized it and deleted the content of their own volition and at this point I really wish they'd left it as it was originally written just to shut you up. As for my being "uptight," if wanting a forum devoted to SL related questions and answers to stay sorta ontopic and not degenerate any further than it already has makes me "uptight" then I suppose I am. It certainly beats what you are.

Didn't get to read the original post before the OP edited, so I have to ask: Did this have anything to do with SL?

*scratched head* The quotes were kinda sketchy, that's why I asked. Doesn't seem like the right kind of place for that kind of discussion, if it's not able to be related to the platform we so are addicted to...

*wanders off to other threads*

It rather boggles my mind regarding the sheer number of people who complain about posts and proceed to comment in said posts without, in any way, contributing to the original post or any constructive discussion that may ensue... regardless of whether the original post has merit to the state of the Universe or beyond.

And now I have done exactly what I have pointed out! ;-)

Whatever the OP, religion is relevant to SL. However . . .

Should we start a survey on whether or not non-related SL subjects could be included in these forums?
