Not yet. If I do, the Mute button is always at hand. Problem solved.

Ditto for me as well. Mute is my favorite option for jerks and seriously annoying ppl. (Now if we could just get Mute to work in rl) If it happens on my sims, you get a trip to somewhere else. No place for ppl acting rude about something that is public knowledge. I am an avid profile ho so if you see me out, guaranteed that I'm looking.

If I didn't want people in my profile, it'd be empty, groups hidden. The last thing I want is more interruptions as this thing lets me know who is reading my profile.

I read profiles all the time, isn't that what they're for?
I assume that every where I go my profile is "violated" by someone. Who cares? I'll be adding something to my profile the next time I log in that says something to the effect of "I already read yours neener neener."

If anyone is bothered by all this, just uncheck that "true online status" feature, you can always copy and paste the avatar's key into an conventional online status script to do the same thing without the drama.

One wonders if one can view a Profile through that feature in Emerald's Radar without triggering this little snooper.

Nah, there is nothing like that. For the radar part, Emerald just chats out the keys of avatars in range so it can learn what their distances are (accurate distances are hard to come by without a script, once they are outside draw distance.) It doesn't disclose what you're doing with any entries in the radar list, just generally who is on your radar. If observers are within chat range, they can look at their own to see the exact same information.

(But, once you open that profile, the same true online status thing applies, the feature works the same no matter how you get the profile window up.)

This could be an aid to me when I'm out at clubs dancing -- if enough guys use it, then it would help me know who reads my profile and therefore who I might target for my attentions.

I, personally love Emerald. My question is, why hate the viewer when its others that are creating products to enhance (possibly questionnable) it? To me, that is just plain silly. Just don't use it. You DO have that choice. It really is quite simple.

Don't hate the viewer, hate product.

If I'm understanding this product correctly, it's exploiting an information leak in the Emerald viewer. And that would be a good reason to hate the viewer.
