Hello Ring Binder, Its very confusing these permissions!

Under Tab Acquired:

Its says "You Can" Modify-copy-resell but all these are greyed out and unavailable!

But under title: "Next Owner" may modify-copy-resell which I dont want! I found that the + sign appeared when I ticked these , and it went in.

But I dont want the next owner to be able to copy- modify-resell it.!!!:(

I want the "you can" part opened!

As I say, I have never been able to take a snap shot in world, as some of you are saying, I only ever get the pop up saying send by postcard or save to H/D.

So really im back to square 1. Cos I dont want to give rights of my texture to the owner of the note card I may give it too!

but thanks anyway.

when you put a pic (be it texture or snapshot) into a notecard, the notecard basically becomes the next owner, and in order for the notecard to be able to share the pics with other players, the permissions for next owner must be full perms

if you do not wish others to get them as full perms then you can not put them in a notecard

hope that helps

(the "you can" portion of the permissions will always be greyed out, they will reflect whatever the permissions are when you get the item from someone else, as you are not allowed to change them, and you will always have full perm on items you make yourself (as long as you start from the basics, and not use as item made by someone else as your base) in that case you will have whatever permissions that the item has on it for you)

If you don't allow the next owner to copy-modify-resell then you cannot put it into the notecard. You can send it to the person directly by opening their profile (click 'search' at the bottom of the screen, go to 'people' tab, and search for their name) then drag the picture from your inventory into the space that says "Drop inventory here".

thanks Rhaorth and Immortal!

Firts Immortal, I have sent pics by way of inventory for some time, but if there for like a job application, these images dont always get matched to the note card aplication, because The other person gets so many items, they dont always get seen, or are capped. etc.

As always Rhaorht you always explain things in best way u can :)

But you said:

(you will always have full perm on items you make yourself (as long as you start from the basics, and not use as item made by someone else as your base) in that case you will have whatever permissions that the item has on it for you)

This is the part I am trying to get across, they dont come from anyone else, I took the photos in world at a free studio, cant get any basic than that can it? These were then d/l to photoshop where i added text and uploaded again to put in card, they still remain my pics and the rights are mine....so i really dont know why "you can" is greyed out when I myself made the texture. Anyway just let this go now,, thanks for replys, and Morgaine and Ring binder sorry if my postings clashed a bit with yours !

Just curious.... the notecard that you're using... it IS your notecard, right? And not a notecard created by another person?

Mich, when I look at the Properties of an uploaded pic, I see this:

I created it, so I have full permissions on it...there's no logical reason to change that, so the fields are grayed out.

In order to put it into a notecard, it must look like this:

As mentioned previously, the next owner must also be granted full permissions in order to place it in the card.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.
