HOW do i make myself look straight ahead, or at my mouse pointer, or whatever?

I've been doing a lot of portrait pictures lately - having recently partnered, I have a good excuse along with a peerless subject... it's also nice to try the same shot, once lined up, using the differing options for times of day. Some image effects can really improve doing this. Alt-zooming is lovely as well for careful framing.

If you want sideways glances or such, log in an alt and pose the main, switch to alt and snap.
The 'head following mouse' seems a random thing, can't figure out how to do it deliberately.

Another tip, as long as you're cammed onto your avatar's face, is to detach the File menu from the top of your viewer (click once to unfold it, then click the double lines at the top) and then drag it on your screen to where you want your av to be looking. When you move your mouse to hit 'snapshot to disk' in the menu, the av's head will move to follow it. You can get some nice wistful sideglances that way. If the av's AO makes his/her head move back after a second, a quick wiggle of the mouse will snap it back to look at the menu again.

I've also got some nice snapshots of my partner looking at me by saying something just before I take the pic. That turns his head towards me, and is usually perfect when you want to take a nice snapshot of a couple. I'm pretty certain the 'look at speaker' thing overrides most AOs, but I'm not sure about various poseball scripts such as dances and, er, other couples poses *g* Worth a try, though.

Just had to ask this I have never been able to do this, and still cant!

Some ad-boards which give out a note card, also give on the same page a texture pic, say of a house.

But when I Try and drag one of my texture pics i uploaded from my comp, it just wont go into an empty note card!
I just get a white circle and a black line.. As I have notecards from others with texture pics/ snapshots on them, there must be a way to add them to a note card, where am i going wrong!!!? Also I cant seem to take a snap shot without it going to my H/D, which i dont really want unless Im going to edit it, I have seen some avaters take a pic, with there hands up. like there taking a pic and theres a camera sound as they take it, but i have not been able to do a snap shot like that since i joine SL last year!

The texture needs to be copy/mod/trans in order for it to go into a notecard. If any of those permissions are missing, it won't go.

hi the textures are mine lol there portraits i took to put in a note card, there my own snapshots from sl that went to my H/D, then i uploaded them, but found they wont go onto a note card, there my own work no one elses, the general tab says owner Me.....Michaela, I own them, surely its up to me if i want to make copy transfer or whatever

Perhaps the permissions weren't set properly.

All of my pictures/textures get set to Transfer only when I upload. I have wanted a way to change this default, but have not found one yet.

Edited to add: In case you didn't know, right click the texture and select Properties to check the other permission boxes.

Set permissions! Brenda I dont understand, why should i set my own permissions, anyway how do you do that? They are blanked out, how do i make my own snaps transfer?

Hi, but the point is, i have notecards from other people, even escorts with there texture pictures in them they taken themselves, so how do they get them into a note card and not me!

I spent hours doing 4 photos for a special note card ad-board, now there totally useless especially since i added a lot of specialised text on the pic in photoshop before i uploaded the finished pic back into sl to put into a note card.! (

I think that snapshots taken and uploaded directly from inworld are full perm by default, but it you save them to your hard drive first and upload later, the default is transfer only. In this case do what Lil said... find it in your inventory, right click and select properties and then tick off copy, at least, mod if you want. When you drag a pic to a notecard, it is a copy that goes there, so if your pic is not copiable, that's why you are having problems.

You must set it to Copy, Mod, AND Transfer before you can drag it to a notecard - it must be "full permission" before it will go to a notecard.

And yes, snapshots taken directly to SL are full perm by default but uploaded textures are not and have to be changed.

open your inventory, right click the photo while it's in your inventory. choose "properties". then make it modify copy transfer. close that window. now drag.

it's been explained 5 times now, and i don't think any one of us can be any more clear.

That is awesome. I had a photo studio that I got for free somewhere and it was supposed to be modifiable but it was not and I wanted to add more background textures. Now, I know very very little about building and I just do not understand shapes well. It took me about 4 hours to figure out that damn hollowed out half sphere part. LOL - I really needed this info then.

I just linked everything but the sphere so I can change the textures. Also I have something else I can send your way next time I am in world.

Rather than doing it that way, I have a script that you can drop into the sphere and then you just dump textures into it also and click the sphere to change the background - then you can go ahead and have it all linked together. I'll send you a copy of that script if you want.
