OK, i understand this whole.. TO DAMN BAD THING.. an honestly NO i dont take it lightly.. i lost money in the GINKO BANK THING, an im told that the MAIN PROBLEM is the amount of transfers an the fact they dont have time (more or less) for that.
HERES WHERE I COME IN... i am willing to do this PRO-BONO. I will take the transfers made to this Nicholas Portocarrero from the time GINKO opened to the time it CRASHED.. an sort it out all nice an pretty for LINDEN LABS so that they SEE the ORIGINAL DEPOSITS, an then REFUND US OUR MONEY BACK!!
Seriously I can do this an WILL if allowed. I missed all the announcements about this.. an the simple fact i DID NOT have high speed for almost 2 years is another reason I lost my money. If the rate was L300 to $1(usd) he left with in the area of $530,000 (USD).

AND THATS BULL!! ..LESSON LEARNED.. I DONT THINK SO.. more like if you cheat people you get to walk away with a nice chunk of change, an noone will come after you for it.

SO I BEG OF YOU ALLOW ME TO DO THIS. IF LINDEN'S WONT DO IT.. LET SOMEONE ELSE DO IT.. AN I WILL.. THANK YOU

Why would LL have to pay you back? Wouldn't that be the Ginko people's responsibility?

Or they could go after the man on behalf of the residents that LL proudly proclaims are the heart and soul of the platform. The thelf of a L$ or two is one thing (though, still theft) but theft of over a half million US dollars is quite another. Class action suits have been filed, mitagated and won for far far less. Any individual resident who has lost money in the Ginko fiasco can file such a suit...........but the individual cost vs recovery for such a suit is rather daunting. However, LL can do it on our behalf and any reputable business would do so........assuming they valued their base customers. Goes to show where LL's heart is doesn't it? They have all the facts and figures logged in their data base, they have the legal staff to review it. All it takes is a little caring on their part.

And they wonder why no corporations are flocking to this new, wonderful platform they've created...........:)

LOL Nick cashed out before he EVER dreamed up that GPB's idea.

You go find him in South America and make him pay.

the suggestion on raising tier fees was a joke BTW -

We shouldn't have to bail out people who lost money to Ginko

LL prints money. Solved.:)

If some guy scams some poor schmuck in Warcraft of all hiz stuffz or Gold. Blizzard investigates it and reimburses.

Strangely this is fake money, just like the linden.

No need to charge other players.

That really doesn't work as easy as it sounds.

Because they either will have to sell less on Supply Linden to balance the L$ injection through these people's accounts.

Or they can just dump the money into the economy and let the value of the Linden drop.

SO either LL pays it by losing Supply Linden proceeds.

OR we the residents pay it by losing value of our Linden Dollars.

Of course LL can just release more SIMs to cover the loss through Supply Linden .. and then everyone pays because Land prices will drop.

Basically

SOMEONE will be paying for the money Nick P took

Either -

The Ginko Investors.

-or-

Linden Lab.

-or-

Content Creators and others who earn L$ in world.

-or-

Land Owners.

It might not be a real economy but inflation still is affected by how much L$ are put into the system.

200 MILLION L$ would make a *BIG* impact on the trading price of the L$ if not balanced somewhere.

Of course they are. They let it happen. Check the TOS, they own it all, including all the accounts.

If the most successful virtual reality on the planet can fix things like that so can the tiniest most scraggly.

Whats that old business adage about "copy success"??

They are as much responsible for letting than happen as they are for a shoe store to close down on account of poor sales. Why should LL be selective in which businesses to involve themselves in? Buyer beware.

But *WE* aren't responsible.

When you go to a store and buy shoes you own the shoes and the money you use to pay for them. In this case they own it all to begin with. Check the TOS.

I really wish you'd leave your hotel room with WOW/Blizzard every now and then to look at things at least partially unbiased.

The people who run WoW don't care what the trading value of WoW money to US dollars is. Thus they can print the money with impunity.

On the other hand LL uses the Linden $ as a means of compensating its content creators and other businesses. They have both a vested and a declared interest in maintaining a system where this continues to be the case.

While you have stated over and over in the past you don't agree LL should use this model. It does not mean magically that this model does not exist.

I agree "we" aren't responsible. LL just prints Lindens thats all and not let that input of money which was extorted out of the "economy" to have any effect.

How?

How do they put 200 Million into the Second Life economy without it having an effect somewhere?

Why does the scene in Lost in America when Albert Brooks asks the casino for his money back come to mind?
