says missing from database

The JIRA issue # is SVC-553, "numerous reports of objects, notecards, scripts, gestures "missing from database". Many people have filed bugs on this, but they are all being marked "resolved" and folded into this bug. So, please, go vote -- LL seems unaware that this is suddenly at epidemic levels.

Also relevant is Bug SVC-114, recently retitled "Meta-Issue: Inventory Loss: issues, fixes, development". This relates particularly to the no-copy-item-disappear-on-rez nastiness.

The third relevant bug is one requesting per-resident inventory backup:
VWR-358, "New feature -> Inventory -> Back-up/Export"

I'm sure you're all sick of Nika's how-to-vote tips, so I won't include them. BUT if anyone needs them, please reply to this.

What the heck is a JIRA and where is it?

JIRA is for bug reporting and voting on new features. It's at http://jira.secondlife.com

Jira has a confusing UI if you don't use it every day. Hints on how to vote:

The JIRA login page is at https://jira.secondlife.com/cas/login?service=https%3A%2F%2Fjira.secondlife.com%2F secure%2FDashboard.jspa

-- If you know the bug number (like SVC-553), then enter it in the "Quick Search" field in the upper right of the JIRA screen.
-- When the bug description comes up, look on the panel on the left side of the screen for the section called "Operations" (probably the last section)
-- The last item in that section should be "Voting". A single click there will register your vote. The page will change to indicate that you now have voted for this bug.

ALL DONE!

I would respectfully submit that ANYONE affected by this unforgiveable malfunction NOT take any of the kludged-together "remedies" that some of us already know by heart.

Instead, begin filing support ticket after support ticket. File a support ticket for each and every item you've lost. Maybe...just MAYBE...some gridmonkey might get a finger out of a nostril long enough to perhaps notice that there's a FREAKIN' PROBLEM HERE!!!!!

You should NOT allow LL to keep ignoring this issue. Every item in your database is the result of either a willful purchase, or time spent in labor creating that item. Make LL accountable for your time and money. Demand that they fix this problem...and fix it before they offer one more single d*mned new "feature".

It boggles the mind how they can allow this to continue...especially after screwing the EU members with a VAT adjustment to their tier charges. So now...EU SLer's will pay MORE for the privilege of letting LL eat their inventory.

I now understand that lonely sign stamped out on an early map ... you know ... the one that said, rather plaintively to the orbiting satellite...

FIX SL!!!!!!

I seem to remember that when I joined last fall, there were many of these signs when I panned over the map. I've been amazed that I haven't seen them re-appear -- is it impossible for landowners to make big signs like this show now?

I tried the support ticket route. Got an email saying my ticket will be ignored as I'm a basic acoount user. :(

So any hints on how a basic account user submits support tickets?
