Did you clear your client cache? That helps sometimes. Alas, not always.

Found a few things in my inventory giving same message. I just did a complete re-install of SL and still missing. Some cloths, some shapes I made and some scripts and note cards.... And people wonder why their businesses are getting less customers. I am not going to buy anything anytime soon.

The good news is that this "missing from database" error used to be the death toll for those items, but recently they have begun returning sometimes! It is promising that some of yours are back already.
Try deleting your cache (delete the entire directory Documents and settings/you/application data/secondlife). Also delete as many files as you can from your local settings/Temp directory. Now uninstall and reinstall SL. That may bring more back. If they aren't all back immediately, don't panic ... just wait a day or two. They may trickle back. |

Well............................if your lucky they return.
I had items returned to me after 1+ years. Now i would not going around screaming Lost data base items will bereturning. But infact gestures, and others objects indeed are lost for good. Its just luck that items ( not gestures are returned ). Usagi |

A friend had this happen to him. He found most of his missing items in his object file...but was just named object. He was going through, and not knowing what that on "object" was, he set it out and rezzed most of his missing things....all packaged together. Also, have you looked in your lost and found folder? Sometimes things end up there.

I was going back to some old projects today and got this error on the scripts. The compiled scripts still function, but the source is gone. I'm beside myself, because while I'm certain I can recreate these from scratch, it's probably 20-30 manhours of work.

all my furniture and other items in my inventory are reporting to be missing from database is there a reason for this. i looked at known issues but the forum is blank I found a work-around for COPIABLE items that have this problem. [[[NOTE!!!:: untested outside of my own avatar, so may or may not work.]]] Go into yoru Inventory and R-Click on the itme giving you the error to get the drop down menu. Make a COPY of your item. Go to a ~different~ folder and PASTE the itme there. Rez item from new folder. Rez item from old location. Delete un-needed copies as desired. ~Jessy _____________________

I have had a rash of these complaints since Wednesday whilst mentoring. Then it also happened to my boyfriend yesterday with his shape and his bald cap...I advised clearing cache and relog but hasn't helped. I then advised submitting a ticket. It's a real shame this happens...and it's certainly happened to me as well with textures, objects and clothing. I can see this further damaging businesses if it continues.
I would advise making a back-up of your shapes for safekeeping as those are often one the most upsetting personal items to lose. _____________________

Gillian talks smart here. backup your shapes! if its possible. And or find out if lost shapes can be replace if its happens.

Please VOTE! It really does make a difference!

The JIRA issue # is SVC-553, "numerous reports of objects, notecards, scripts, gestures "missing from database". Many people have filed bugs on this, but they are all being marked "resolved" and folded into this bug. So, please, go vote -- LL seems unaware that this is suddenly at epidemic levels.
Also relevant is Bug SVC-114, recently retitled "Meta-Issue: Inventory Loss: issues, fixes, development". This relates particularly to the no-copy-item-disappear-on-rez nastiness. The third relevant bug is one requesting per-resident inventory backup: VWR-358, "New feature -> Inventory -> Back-up/Export" I'm sure you're all sick of Nika's how-to-vote tips, so I won't include them. BUT if anyone needs them, please reply to this. |

I had previously voted for SVC-114. Thanks to your helpful post, Nika, I added my votes to the other two.
I urge everyone to add their votes to all three! While you're at it, contact some friends and ask them to vote. |

Same problems here. Went through the usual clear cache routine with no effect.
I wonder when LL will make inventory stability a priority?? Or at least give us some backup capability. |

Who says there's no gambling in SL anymore? Your Inventory is nothing but a roulette wheel.
Perhaps we should rethink strategy: Don't ask for backup capability. Don't complain about missing inventory. Instead, tell LL we know where gambling is going on in SL and we'd like LL to intervene. |

This is still happening to me. Found myself naked and bald when I tried to change outfits! I keep reporting bugs but now help yet.
