I think it really depends on the relationship with each friend.

have a huge friends list but many of those arent peple i know well.

I have a group who i will often blind tp to come dance with me. They are close friends who know I am tping them to the club we hang out becuase i want their company. I only do this to people i know well and chat to on adaily basis and who are my closest friends. Actually getting a random tp from me means you have made it to being what i consider a real friend.

As for group invites I havent invited or added everyone on y friends list to my store group. I did however add select friends when i got the mailing list group. Once again they were my closest friends who I knkow love my clothes. they tend to getthem for free anyway so it wasnt advertising as much as wanting thm to know what im up to.

If the IM or invitation is tailored to *me* specifically I don't mind. Hell, that's what friends are about!

On the other hand, if the same thing is sent to multiple recipients then it's time for the deletion button.

Pep ("What, you still have friends?" Actually, yes.)

Precisely.

Even though the person to whom I refer was more of an acquaintance than a friend, I would not have minded one bit receiving a personal IM. It was using her friends list as an advertising source.

interestingly, last night I was re-reading the rules of a freebie group I'm in and one was for designers to *not* use the group IM to offer specials as that looked "desperate."

Hi, E :)

Yes, once again we're all pretty much in agreement that there is a big difference in close friends vs acquaintances on this issue. And even with acquaintances, if they had personalized it to me as others have said, that also would have been fine.

Like others its a quick way off my friends list also those "please vote for me " I had one friend ask me daily to remember to vote for her and also use any alts i had. I informed her i voted but felt she was not the best on on the board so am voting for my pick, then i removed her .
