I say "yay"! One thing I did love about The Sims Online was that there were many options to choose from when you created. Once created you were stuck to it but could change clothes.
These options give new players and alt creators a decent start. The body can be tweaked and other aspects changed to make them unique.

There were no Neko! *shakes fist* Because, you know, there aren't enough of us roaming the grid already... Some of those female avs looked oddly linebacker-ish to me. And the cardboard box one was my favorite as well.

You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.
Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

For some that is the intent, for others it's just odd...

Most of those people, though, are just way too thin. If they want to be more representative, it's good that they are including more ethnic and age diversity, but what about the tubby folk?

Well, I am sure there will still be instructions on OIs on how to do custom work on your avie. They can get tubby, less linebacker etc there. Sellers of tails and ears for Neko will be happy they are not represented. The more quality the beginning avies get the less likely free accounts will spend money on upgrading. Unless of course the skins still lack certain.. physical features and they are here to bone their way across the metaverse.

I disagree, since you can fully outfit a free account with all the freebies out there? You can get decent free skin, clothes, etc. just by hitting up the large freebie places and then hitting up many stores for monthly/seasonal free items.

I have met tons of new players though that the first thing they ask is how to get out of the newbie attire. I have given them landmarks, etc to freebie places, but they still want to use their CC to buy something from place like Naughty Designs or the like. For some the custom aspect is their favorite thing to do.

I really liked the dragon one. I liked the box one too but I think he will be the avatar of choice for griefers. I didn't really like the robots at all. All the human ones were done pretty well. Better than the default ones we have now. At least they all seem to have prim hair and prim shoes.

I will note that the now dead CSI:NY sim new user avatars are still leagues better than the ones in this survey (not considering such things as robots and dragons, as those were not choices for CSI:NY).

Thanks for the link Mari. I think most all of those are a major upgrade from the new avatars we have right now.
I liked the dragon and the box man. I thought the elf/medieval rp themed ones were a nice addition too.

From: Isabeau Imako Took the survey, too. Strange how there were 4 robots that looked very similar. Hmm 2 were female, hard to notice at first look. I thought they were a bit sad, cardbordbox was better. I was dissapointed at the shortage of Furries too.

From: MortVent Charron I had to... I loved the mimes... but most of the avatars were meh nothing fancy or special. But good quality. Only a handful really stood out as wow ones. Mimes are for when textchat is taken away and voice is down

From: Whyspe Wylie Yeah, the clowns were odd.
I couldn't tell if they were trying and failing at Goth, or if there's some new Poirot trend that I'm unaware of. lol @ Poirot trend
