Ok, need a breather from RL work... hence this post

So last night i'm having a rare 'nothing to do on SL' moment, and i'm roaming around near one of my favorite hideaway mainland sims where I have a house, and I go to for peace and tranquility now and then, and I bump into this guy who's roaming around nearby and who talked me into a helicopter ride with him and it was kind of fun, and we did some other stuff, and mostly the guy was pretty entertaining to me, and so I even invited him over to my house to show him around, then as we're approaching my house the guy says, 'hey man i have this great car I wanna sell you. Wanna buy it? Hey seriously, wanna buy my car? You'll love this car, its a great car, you gotta buy it man, seriously you gotta have this car? I need you to buy my car. I'll give you a great deal? Okay? So you gonna buy it? Huh? huh?"

Now i'm thinking oh shit, what did i get myself into? what do I do now? This guy, who I no longer want to have a *thing* to do with now knows my secret sanctuary, and is going to come around and haunt me every time i come here for a little zen... lol...

So what would YOU do at this point?

Have you tried: "No thank you, I do not want a car" ??

What would I do? Nothing.

So he knows where you live - big deal. Chances are he is not going to bother you. If he does, then you can ban him and mute him to your heart's content.

Actually I can't quite understand from your post whether you are more concerned about your house or about a property you don't own. If it's not your property then, again, nothing to worry about unless and until he makes a pest of himself. Then you can mute him and discuss it with the property owner if necessary.

But unless there's something you haven't told us I don't see anything in your story that suggest the guy is going to seek you out and harass you over and over again in the future. If he does - worry about it then.

Just mute him...

If he stalks you on your land, ar for harrassment and give him a space on the ban list.

Ask him if he wants sex. He'll forget about selling you a car, one way or the other.

You're thinking ahead. I like that. Unfortunately, you're easily influenced by salesmen, so here's what you do: say no. If he shows up again, say no again, then ignore him. Eventually he'll get the point.

I'd tell him if he's willing to go to such lengths to sell cars, he should get a job at a real life dealership. That's pretty impressive.

Sadly, more than once I've thought I made a friend, only to realize that their ultimate goal was to get me into the club they work at. It's very discouraging.

LOL so what I did was this: I said hey man! I really want to show you something first! I GOTTA show you this. I'll TP you! So I found a random sim on the map as far away as I could, TP'd him over then *poofed* away hahaha. I took a hunch that he probably was randomly in the area that I found him in the first place, and probably didn't LM my home location yet, so I quickly made this move before he could think about marking the location. He sent me a TP request after i dumped him - but that was the last I heard from him

Yeah, that tactic isn't going to work too well in the future, when there's that "breadcrumb trail" in your chat saying "you just teleported from location....."

I did this to a chick who couldn't get it through her head that I'm married and didn't want to have sex with her once. Went inviso and TP'd her into the middle of a group of slavers... she was wearing silks and everything. The results were hilarious as they tried to capture her and she had no clue what to do.

I escaped and now I'm coming back to get you!!

Jake, I think you're safe...just ignore him from this point on. I think he'll leach onto the next unsuspecting victim...a social butterfly if you will, flying from flower to flower.

If he keeps bothering you...well, then you'll have to submit him to the landowner for ban. Who knows who he is though...he might be the landowners brother. *shrugs*

Anyway...just ignore him. He'll go away.

That virtual car salesman probably has virtual kids and a wife tucked away on some middle class sim. He has to earn those $$ or his kid will end up dancing on a pole.

A nice little security box. It kicks em off within a blink of an eye. Luckily for them they seem to end up at a rather nice park place!!!! Personally the middle of the sea would be better but I don't seem to have that power.
