Or even a Linden " general Discussion forum " would be nice

I would love to see that come back, but can understand why LL are hesitant to bring it back in an official capacity.

Search for Moniker Beck. Lowest prices I've seen for 4096 rentals. Build your own prefab heaven. It's not that difficult. Great service from him and his staff also.
For a pre-built place, you can't go wrong if you rent in Liome. Search raymond Figtree. _____________________

Who offers the best L$/prim rental rates in SL? I am particularly am looking for residential only, low-lag, and not the usual tropical island beach scenario. TIA for any feedback, particularly from those with tenant experience. now why would people suggest beachfront when OP specifically said they do not want that... LOL _____________________

I live on an Island called Sunshineacid. Quiet, friendly and beautiful enviroment and she who owns it are one of the nicest there is and always there to help with anything. Only houses and there isnt't that many left. Lived there for...hm...a long time now and I wont settle down anywhere else.
Search for Sunshineacid or look in my profile inworld for a landmark. |

Is anyone else getting a bit bored of people running around saying what is appropriate for which forum ?? Not in this case. The comment by Oryx is completely appropriate and the thread is not. I don't think it's the case here but history has shown you get a friend asking the question and then someone responding and the list goes on and in reality it's a fake ad. Let it continue and it's out of hand around here. You get upset about many of these comments Maelstrom, but they are all based on experience. _____________________

I can't help with rental rates but I always look at more than just that, such as how often are the owners/estate managers available & are they friendly & helpful? Is the area attractive & is it quiet or griefer heaven! I like somewhere quiet & stunning & can recommend (In no order) Fatima's Love/Desire etc (She owns many islands & is always available & willing to help), Ivy Hollow's sims & Hoini the 1001 Arabian Nights sim.

I can understand where Oryx is coming from; these kind of questions always lead to a buy_my_stuff or rent_my_land thread, and this is probably not the best place for it. I appreciate that the huge majority of replies are genuine in motivation to help out the OP, but soon enough (it's probably happened countless times already), you will have shills creating threads with the sole purpose of creating a platform for a particular advert that will follow. However, there still needs to be a way in which residents can answer genuine questions such as these; perhaps a 'recommendations' forum or something similar? I'm not sure what the answer is; it's a tough one. Shopping Recommendations would be an excellent addition to the forums. And I think people would actually browse it, as much as RA. _____________________

This thread is so not appropriate for RA. Lock please. I'm sorry Oryx, but I just do not see this thread as inappropriate when I read the quidelines in the sticky post. Is it annoying when the vultures swoop in and take advantage of it? Yes. But if it violates the forum rules, I'd like to see how. --Avion About This Forum <--- please read me first! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resident Answers is a simple, friendly place to ask your fellow Residents of Second Life for help. This forum came about after many suggestions dating back a long time, so in recognition of how many knowledgeable Residents we have who want to help others, we decided it's time to do something about it! So here's what you need to know: * Any Resident can post and reply here. You don't need to be in one of our Volunteer Groups, although volunteering is appreciated. * You can ask about stuff like ways to earn L$, land management tips, and newcomer questions if you're new to Second Life! We also have specific Content Creation forums, Technical Talk for troubleshooting, and Classifieds. * Please remember Resident answers aren't official, but may link to official sources like our Knowledge Base. You can use our Support page to contact us. * In addition to the forum Guidelines, abusive behavior here will result in permanent removal of access to this forum. Making posts which are deliberately unhelpful or disruptively off-topic will lead to being banned from Resident Answers. This is not a place for rants and disputes. It's easy to be nice. We want to encourage a comfortable space for getting the help you're looking for, so don't be shy—go ahead and ask, and make some new friends too! |
