Unhappy Customer...advice needed

We don't know both sides of the story. I'm not saying the OP is wrong in what she claims but we don't know the full story.

Yes, I know there are some seriously strange people in here who either shouldn't be let onto the web or shouldn't be allowed to talk to others but gift cards and then banning does stray into the wrong end of sensible - particularly since the OP has bought from them before. The way SL plays up these days anything is possible and can't be discounted.

Rather than stressing over it I do strongly suggest to the op that they don't let this ruin their big day and they just look at using an alt or camming in if there's something they want, and if they don't want to buy anything else then give the card away to someone with a warning.

The profile pic is something to consider - although I suspect it will only be found by others after they've had a bad experience rather than before but still worth considering.

- rez 3 plywood cubes on each 16, creative keyword spam inc target business/av name. set to show in search and set for sale.
- take out $51 classified outlining the same.
- add picks to all alt profiles
result:
-#1 rank in all wedding photography-type searches
-anyone searching'wedding photographers' or the like finds a page dedicated to target.

yes its dirty.
yes it is likely in violation of the tos, cs, etc.
yes it was damn effective.
yes, we got our money back after that.

and you took it down after that right? If so I don't think it was underhand if it was justified and finally got the resolution you were looking for.

Of course, none. But likewise what good is a gift card to a store with poor products and unsatisfactory service? What I was saying is that if she was so displeased with the quality of the products and service, why should she be eager to spend the gift card anyhow?

That's why my advice, based on the facts we've been given, is write it off and walk away.

She was displeased with one particular product, she said she had bought other products there and hadn't indicated she was displeased with them.

We left it up for a few weeks. I think it was important that other wedding couples to get the warning this person would destroy their wedding memories and to not use her.

Wait, not only would she destroy your wedding memories - but steal your wedding invitations and replace the parent prim so it seemed like her creation (yet another trick in her scammer repetoire) so as to make her business look like a robust wedding businesses.

Rezzing the giant mega prim cube over her store and setting it spinning with her pic and the words THIEF on every side also helped.

People will continue to exploit, rip off and hurt others until you confront them for their actions and sanction them with consequences. If you do not do this, then like children, they will continue their awful acts. And sometimes even after getting busted hardcore style like we did her, they keep going anyways. Some people will never learn, but others you can shame into doing the right thing and making up for their ugly actions. To me, in our case, the ends definitely justified the means.

did you consider the DMCA route for the invitation? If she's still using it then it's something you can still consider. Even if you don't go through with it sending her a little note about it just might send that cold shiver of fear down her spine.

Well, she got a MOD a version by accident. We were having a major permission bug issue back then around April 2008. So i think she had every right to mod the thing away until her little dark heart was content because she had a modifiable version. But, it was simply yet another way for her to misrepresent herself through and hook unsuspecting wedding couples. She had SEVERAL wedding invitations that had been modified this way on display in her shop that upon closer inspection you could see had originally belonged to someone else and all she did was change the parent prim and then added a bunch of useless and tiny invisible prims to increase the prim count for some reason.

But, i don't even remember her name now. These 'expose' them retaliation tactics to me are a good temporary thing, but holding onto to a grudge like that is no good for your state of mind.

Sensible advice for everyone to heed methinks.

Well, it could be accidental or it could be, "Let's shut her up long enough to ban her."

One of the things that could have happened is that they were dealing with another customer who was twice as rude.. and well, accidentally put the OP's name on the ban list instead. Done similar enough after a high stress situation. Or they could have given her the card as some suggested, as a way to make themselves look good but never have to deal with her again.

I don't know the full story, so..

I wonder if it is a case of a somewhat thin skinned content creator. They got in a pique about their lovely gown being criticised, so in a snit they took back the cookie.

I'd think they could've at least offered to make the train more flexi or whatever it was that the customer disliked. I'd have looked upon it as helpful feedback (assuming the customer didn't curse or name-call etc.)

Or she kept griping after she got the coupons and then they banned her.

Is also a possibility.
