I have a 10 pin bowling alley that is completely free to play. 6 lanes and great fun. I also have one of Iron Bears go kart tracks that currently only costs L$1 to drive as long as you like (it may go up shortly, so hurry).

Plus I'm about to open a completely new competitive yet safe combat zone, a strange concept I know, but that also promises to be a hugely family friendly fun gaming spot. That'll be free to begin with but we might start to charge later.

My base is Redux SE 17,242,22, all friendly fun.

Try Prim Hearts. It's like oen big amusement park. Super cool!

Mari

Thank-you very much - loved Prim Hearts. So far the only full theme park I've visited in SL (set up as a theme park, others others just seem to have 1 or two rides).

I love cuddly kittens :)

1) I was once attacked by a swan, once, as a child.
2) I once spent a long enjoyable afternoon playing with kittens at a doctor's office as I waited for my grandmother to finish her appointment.

08-13-2007 14:41
But.....

...... will the kittens be able to swim?
....... will they be able to eat the breadcrumbs without getting their little mouths full of water?

It sounds very, very cruel!!!!
Shame on you!!

A circus - maybe you could set up the performers as a camping thing. Oh, but NO clowns, they're much too scary.

A zoo. - maybe you could set up the animals as a camping thing. Oh, but NO anteaters, they're much too scary.

Baloon rides

One of those aquariums where you get to go underwater in tubes so the sharks can't eat you.

A BDSM dungeon..... Oh sorry, got a bit distracted there...

Kitto Flora sells a very nice "miniature railway" that you can sit and ride. You just put the sectional track together (like a train set you'd buy in a shop) and the train will follow whatever configuration you've laid it out in.

There are a few tricky bits, like remembering to have straight pieces rotated the right way and whether the curve is left or right - but once you get it set up it's great. You can run up to 4 trains on one circuit too.

AKK horses are awesome. I own myself own. I always am looking for sims to ride her and which is good to take nice pictures (which mosly means that I must be able to drop/create a item for extra lighting.... and I always clean up my mess :P).

Maybe some landowners/renters can pull together and setup some quests with riddles and alike what will people lead from one piece of land to another, leading them through some of nice looking spots in SL.

Maybe some scripters can make items that react on certain words said in chat and give away clues that way. I see here some nice possibilities.

Events. I know I'm a lot less likely to make it somewhere when it is "always" there. I get distracted, or busy, and end up taking six months to get there. :( Still haven't gotten to the Greenies sim.

Seasonal attractions? You've already got the ice rink. Does the fishing have seasons? The traveling circus sounds neat, especially if there's a couple sims for it to pass between. What about the occasional treasure hunt or nature trail bingo?

I think most of it is marketing. I'd been to Livingtree before (for the texture tutorials originally) but I didn't know about half the things that were on the sim.

On the subject of amusement parks, check out Alphaland, it's the best one I've seen, there are some fantastic rides including great rollercoasters and those things that go up high and then drop and a lot more and most of them are free to ride or 1L$

Wow... I'd totally forgotten about dis thread. Tons to catch up on!

From: Ceera Murakami
I set up horse riding trails on a set of sims I am building. Te client had a bunch of the AKK ridable horses, and it's actualy pretty fun to ride a horse all over the sims. You 'wear" the hotse as an attachment, and an AO and moving prims in the horse makes it walk, run, jump, rear up... It even has sound effects, and kicks up a dust trail when you run. I bought one for myself after seeing hers. Unfortunately, there's no way that I know of for the horses to be shared, unless maybe through a group? They do have some surreys and wagons though that look like they will allow a horse owner to take passengers for a trail ride...

Very cool. I know we're gonna be workin up some trails eventually, so dis would fit right in.

In one sim, i developed a Weekly "Fox and hounds" game, For another, a poisonous Snake/Insect" side game. For a third, i developed a water imp that would ask three Random questions, Three correct answers, and the imp dispensed a prize from it's list of gifts, One wrong answer had the imp verbally abuse the player before sinking out of sight. I also did some work on Quicksand, and Temp on Rez Avalanches for mountain trails. The Nature of your Sim Should suggest any number of Thematic game Possibilities.
The beauty of the Poisonous Snakes, Or the Imp was they didn't require resident attention at all, Once set they took care of themselves, Guests could play at thier leisure. Take some time, Think about your setting, and some ideas relating to the lore and history of the region you are recreating should give you a few ideas.

Something as simple as Svarga's Feedable birds, or Growing Plants can Really put you on the map.

We do have some from Svarga, an the feedable birds are on the list for the future. The other stuff you name sounds just totally awesome as well. The imp sounds amazing, an I'd love to do someting like dat! I'm jes gonna hafta get better at scripting!

I recently played some elven drums which was fun.

We have the full set of the elven drums on the island. Love 'em lots!

This is true. We jes finished a big information sign at the drop point, with a big map, event poster, and even some hand-out brochures explaing many of the tings we got on the island. The difficulty (for me) is wanting to get the word out about the place, get people using it, *maybe* even sell a thing or two -- but without being all spammy an stuff. I'm all for marketing, but I also wanna make sure it stays within an acceptable realm.

Dat's the hard part.

When they're done right, museums and art galleries can be good.

What about a builder's training school?
