You know, Lindal, I've been in RP communities and NEWER had a snappy remark on my spelling. In intense RP, it's speedtyping and even people who I know well, and I know their grammar is 100% correct in other situations, type wrong.
The human brain has a way to correct minor misspelling like this. Personally, I prefer people who's 1st language isn't english and that try to make an effort and spell whole words. The native english speaker often type: "wtf u gona do 2mrw?".....
“You can't help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn't spell it right; but spelling isn't everything. There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn't count.”

You misspelled "never" in the first sentence.

Just kidding with you a little. You're right - in RP, and frankly, in normal chat, things move quickly and it's totally reasonable to ignore minor spelling errors and the like. I'm a native English speaker and I do not do the text-speak nonsense like "wht u up 2?" or crap like that. Unfortunately, I never took typing, so I move at a high rate of speed with the first two fingers on each hand and the occasional thumb or a ring finger thrown in for flair. Plus, my fingers are like sausages - short and thick. I have mafia hands. It makes for a lot of mistakes, so I appreciate it when people cut me some slack in chat.
I think Lindal's point was that the post looked like almost no effort had been put into it. It's easy to proofread and catch most of your mistakes. Sometimes one or two slip through, but it seemed like every darned word in that post was wrong. Gorean RP is pretty intense from what I hear, and if you can't put out the effort to do a cursory review of your post in the forums, how can anyone expect you to put forth the effort to do a good job with the RP?
