starting to wonder if "bullshitting the forums" is AR-able under "disturbing the peace".

If this were the case, almost all of us would wound up in the dock at one time or another.

Well if so then why the repetition of effort in terms of adult verification?!
Marketing. They want to look good for the businesses they imagine are just chomping at the bit to get into SL once they remove the porn from the mainland. If only they would do the same for the businesses that are chomping at the bit waiting for a more reliable grid, better in-world tools, less lag, less inventory loss, and everything else that makes the SL experience unpredictable.

That's what I'm saying Ceka! The LL restrictions are not enough! They need to go further! Adult Verification for everyone on the Main Grid!!
Actually, (adult) age verification is nearly completely defunct. It was a beta project that failed. (^_^)

Currently, LL is meeting legal standards by relying on account verification. Meaning, you are agreeing to the TOS/CS and that you're 18 and over. But, if you have defrauded LL by agreeing to these terms, you actually have something to lose this time. Come the next time you sign up after being banned and try to verify again, surely, flags will be raised. (^_^)y

They still let people verify and have those verify flags though, don't they?

Yeah, which is a major problem since it is all screwed up and does not work right

Well that's what I'm saying! With an age verification system in place for all Main Grid users we can prevent this kind of nonsense for happening!

Let's ban teenagers!!!!!! YAY!!! I mean really ban them. Let's lock them up in their rooms until they are a nice safe age - let's say 30. What a nice balanced healthy society we would have!

If teens can now login to the Mainland and the Teen grid... logically shouldn't it follow that they should only be allowed on the Teen grid and everyone on the Mainland should be age verified?

If (false statement) then logically (any statment).

The entirity is false. It does not matter what the final statement is since it will never be reached. If wishes were horses then beggers would ride. Well, wishes are not horses and teens are not allowed on the mainland.

And then there's another question that as just posed also about age verification, and someone potentially submitting someone else's credentials. That obviously can happen. There's no bullet-proof way physically for any Internet site or virtual world - us or anyone else - to verify that the credentials being submitted match the person sitting at the screen. That's just a simple fact.

Unless you're getting into some biometric solution, that's a simple fact of life. So what we're doing is the best technology that's available. We're trying not to make it burdensome on people. We think we're doing a - if there's problems with it, we want to know about those problems.

As LL are 'seen' to be doing things then that is OK as far as the law is concerned imo, its the dam parents that should take their responsibilities more seriously, not us, not LL. The internet is not a baby sitter :)
