If teens can now login to the Mainland and the Teen grid... logically shouldn't it follow that they should only be allowed on the Teen grid and everyone on the Mainland should be age verified?

They are only allowed on the teen grid. (^_^)

Age verification has gone the way of COPA and is not needed for legal reasons. (^_^)

When signing up for SL, you must agree that you are over 18 in age. Just like using a fake ID to buy beer and cigarettes, it's on the shoulders of the teens and their families to keep them honest and under control. (^_^)y

Well that's what I'm saying! With an age verification system in place for all Main Grid users we can prevent this kind of nonsense for happening!

Well its pretty clear that parents aren't doing their part or else there would be no need for age verification!

instead of forcing more regulation on different areas why not start forcing it where it is lacking?
if they are not doing their jobs then you know where the real problem is..more regulations don't work.they restrict freedoms..enforcing current regulations is what works..

people are so trigger happy to come up with new paper work but to lazy to do paper work..

Since little Johnny can swipe daddy's info to get past the age verification, it does nothing. The ones that mommy and daddy cannot control are the ones that will cheat at the verification. The ones that will not cheat are already obeying mommy and daddy and staying on the Teen Grid or in other nice games.

Well my point is... if there's one grid for under 18... the other grid should be over 18... Logic!

There is one grid you can legally access only if you are 18 or over, and one grid you can legally access only if you are 13 - 17.

Short of requiring people to log in from a police station I don't think there's any way to avoid slop-over.

IT ALREADY IS -- what part of this are you not getting. When you signed up for an SL account on the main grid, you stated that you were over 18 -- and so did everyone else that is here.

And you can take that to any court of law in the United States. Good luck :)

Well if so then why the repetition of effort in terms of adult verification?!

no it's not over 18..it is 18..if they want to go to adult content they have to be age verified..
if they can get in there they can get anywhere..
would i like to see everyone have to give real information to get an account..yes for a lot of reasons.
it makes someone accountable for their actions..but it is not gonna slow what is going on with teens getting in here..
here is something that would work..if a child is in places they do not belong on the net and gets caught.then that household should lose their internet connection for a period of time the first offense..then the next time is longer..then the next time is for good..i bet the parents would take better steps to make lil billy was watched a little more than he is now..

OMG! you are right! Call LL and they'll be so happy to learn they can stop the "adult" verification!

You must be young. Over 18?

Because no one is willing to take responsibility for their actions........or, more importantly their children.

You see, no one is individually responsible for anything anymore. So everyone has to cover their own asses. LL is just doing it's part....you should do yours.

That's what I'm saying Ceka! The LL restrictions are not enough! They need to go further! Adult Verification for everyone on the Main Grid!!

they could put up fort knox type walls and they will find a way..this is the internet..
if a 13 year old can hack into the white house site then they can get past anything here..it would be just a matter of time..

and lets say if they get banned from here..then what? then they go off to some less secure place and get in with even worse content that is probably real life images or less protecting of personal information...it's not fixing the real problem..

if parents do not start getting the butt end of the blame for things in net and out and allowed to cast blame for the sake of it was children..then we will keep losing freedoms in here and everywhere..
if it worked that would be great but it doesn't..and anything put up won't either..

people better get aware and notice where the real problem is pretty soon..all this finger pointing in the wrong direction is gonna have major backlash in the wrong direction if we don't .

Teens are not supposed to be on the main grid, sorry.

History (and personal experience) says it is not . . . ;)

Pep (Well, I expect it is AR-able as anything might be vicariously, but not successfully. )
