If they have to disable log-ins, it is probably cause something is messed up and it would probably not be practical to issue a warning if nothing else is working right. Yes SL messes up daily, and LL probably doesn't have a lot of warning themselves.

Yes SL messes up daily, and LL probably doesn't have a lot of warning themselves. It's more a case of, "We're in world.. we haven't realized something's wrong. We make a purchase or rez that no-copy item and are screwed." Plus, it'd just be nice to change grid status to login status on the client login, I'd not try logging in while it shows "Disabled." This would keep LL from being hammered...
