Phil, I just checked, it's listed, and it even includes the profile pick I finally got around to add after, what, two years of being here?
So it is updating._____________________

So how do the picks camping systems see you now? Do they accept your picks for them?

That's odd. Maybe the JVA one flagged you or something.

Nope, JVA tells you if you're banned, and there is no reason for it in my case. Mind you, this only concerns new picks, added after the "fix" rolled out, old ones work normally. When I put in the ticket LL asked for examples with exact quotes from picks, and the only two I could give were PPRS. The friend who is also affected told me today though that for him PPRS also works normal now, but JVA still says "come back after 24 hours", even if in his case it has been a few days.

It's strange how the JVA one doesn't recognise it. I wonder if it's served by more than one datacenter like the in-world search appears to be.

3ring, are there any other parcels in your sim in the seach? Can you find them? When my store did that it was because the whole sim vanished from search. I noticed the inworld all search for my main keyword is all different today than it usually is when everything is working. Something is happening again. yes. i just typed in my sim and opened its page, and all 3 of my listings appeared there. _____________________

3 of my 7 lands still aren't listed in the website search. It has been going on for a week now. Filed a support ticket, issued a Jira, but nothing's changed.

After three days, I got an interesting answer to my support ticket. Basically I was told, "Gee whiz, we found out why your picks aren't found! Silly you was taking mature picks, and the websearch only shows PG!"
Which does not explain why the PPRS picks started working again (still mature, right?) and why picks taken of the same locations on other avatars BEFORE the fix rollout also work... Well. I reopened the ticket, but expect more nonsense. Oh, and currently the database seems to be down completely. Not a single picks, whether old or new, works. *sighs* _____________________

That was someone who mistakenly thought s/he'd found the answer so didn't look any further. It's nonsense, of course. All my parcels are on mature land and none are checked for mature content. And yet some show and some don't. It seems they haven't a clue and they are not trying to find one. Unless...
One that's not showing on the web search does contain mature content - sex beds etc. (the word "sex" . Maybe they have already started to filter the results accordingly._____________________

I just had a look at some results and the word "sex" does appear in some of them, so that idea is wrong.

Interestingly, my ticket got escalated barely two minutes after I had reopened it and explained just why this reply was nonsense.
I think you might be right here, them trying to come up with a rating sensitive search algorithm (and not succeding) may cause some of the problems. _____________________

3 of my 7 lands still aren't listed in the website search. It has been going on for a week now. Filed a support ticket, issued a Jira, but nothing's changed. Problem with web search is (probably) solved. As mentionned on page 2 in this topic, I opened a Jira. Today I got a reply: Ellla McMahon added a comment - Paulo, on the Web Search it states "Please use search in the viewer to view mature listings." Please check that the description of the parcels in About Land > General has only PG content. This could be the solution, because it seems that Ellla is right. I've just checked my land descriptions and INDEED in 3 of 7 descriptions I had the word sex bed. Exactly the lands that didn't show up in the web search. Two weeks ago, when the web search probs began for me, I also changed the descriptions of each individual land. So that explains why the search results seemed random when in fact they were not. It will take some hours before the web search will pick up the changes, so I don't see any change yet. But I'm very confident that this was the problem. |

I think I might have the answer (again)...
I've just had a look - not an exhaustive look, but a few searches - and I think that the website search really is already filtering out adult places. I checked a few days ago and I found the word "sex" in some returned pages, so I thought my idea was wrong, but it just occured to me to check for it in the parcels' names and descriptions, and I didn't find any that contains that word. So it seems to me that the webbsite search isn't broken after all. It just won't return any pages with adult words in their Titles and Descriptions, which are copies of the parcel names and descriptions. So it looks like it's the parcel name and description that's getting pages flagged as adult. Perhaps someone else would like to check some searches too. _____________________

Seems to work again now on mature places
04-27-2009 22:34
I experienced same problems since April 22. But today it worked at my shop despite mature location and adult keywords in my land description!
Can anybody confirm this with other places? Greetz Huney |
