I logged in and verified LL had removed the "offensive photos" in two classified ads, but then they still deactivated my classifieds as well, no refund and I had to pay again to reactivate them after putting a censored photo in place of the ones they deleted.

Yeah I suspect the guy who owns Xcite! AR'd me, he had complained a day or two ago about my having his trademarked name in my keywords. I took it out once he notified me that it was trademarked.

Curious about the use of keywords in classified I did a search for the F-word and came up with over 100 hits and several with explicit RL photos.

It appears someone has to AR you before LL does anything about the classifieds.

Yep. LL does not police the Grid themselves. They let other residents play cop and only then does LL react. Not a good system, since anyone with a grudge can blow the whistle on another resident.

How were you using the word Xcite! ? "Better than Xcite! " "Compares to Xcite!" or just "Xcite!"

The first two he can't do much about.

For the record, we did not abuse report you or anyone else, and in fact we ourselves received a very similar notice and had to adjust our classified ads. We do protect our trademark, but prefer to handle it in a discreet and professional manner, not by issuing abuse reports.

Also, for the record, the warning we received was likewise cryptic and did not make any sense until we issued a service call with LL and got clarification. It's a pretty bad way for LL to handle this issue.

Hmmmm. Usually it transpires that someone has done something ... even if it's *only* been argumentative and offended many, many people.

Or uses their power to hurt someone to get rid of them.Case in Point what LLAbs has done to those that they nolonger wanted etc...........Or just ASSuming they are problem people....

AND

From: someone
People are not infallable when drowning under a sea of work that's too big for the amount of people - solution was to get more staff - they got more staff.

This shows why there are so many Abuse reports either NOT Looked at Or/and Ignored. This is no pardon for LLABS screwups for forced bannedments, and reports that are more intented t made show LLABS personal BS agaisnt someone.

The old story is If LLABS Thinks you bad News they go to their length to take action. Another is If you fight LLABS you will lose.

Grant you there are alot of real abuse that they do take care, but then there are some that are just personal. And are wrongly hurt by such LLABS ABuse report actions.

Why did I visualize green text when I read this post? :)
Thanks for popping in and setting the record straight.

Javier, I apologize for suspecting it was you who AR'd me, although it was an obvious conclusion that I jumped to. I will agree that the other communication you sent to me was professional and polite.

Chirs, I had found one of our competitors was using my product name in his keywords as well as many other competitors product names. I was irritated by this but figured there was nothing I could do and assumed that if this was the way aggressive businesses competed, and I should probably do the same. So I borrowed his keyword list and pasted it into my ads. Xcite was just one of the words, it wasn't specifically targeted by me. When I received a complaint from Javier I researched the trademark issues and concluded that it was not improper for me to say "Better value then Xcite!" so I changed my ad to say that. After sleeping on it, I deleted it the next day, deciding I really didn't need that reference. I doubt if it really does me any measurable amount of good, and having developed a better understanding of Trademark regulations I decided to respect the effort and expense that Javier's went to in registering it and leave it alone.

And so the very next day I get AR'd.... grumble, grumble...

I was framed!

--------------------------

Seriously if you weren't even in the place they accused you of being its time to contact customer service.

Now, before you don't do it again and get yourself banned.

Explain to them you weren't even there, and evidently they have some kind of problem with their tracking software or whatever.

At least have some record in case this stuff escalates and you are denied access to your account.

Heck I recently noticed a well known owner of texture store with nude photo in her profile.
Wonder if she is going to get ARed?
There is lot of confusing things going on my friend was told by the Lindens they couldn't do anything about the neighbors having cybersex in public chat because it was mature sim even though she owns majority of the sim.
