Can anyone please advise me if there is any protocols concerning shouting? After six months of quiet living in my mature mainland region I have acquired a new Spanish neighbor who has surprise surprise erected yet another club. Now I have nothing against a club next door to mine but these guys like to shout and I mean CAPTAL LETTER SHOUT all evening long. It fills half the sim and worse...their sploder spams my guest screens every 10 minutes. The problem when these excitable guys get going is that my guests cant even see each others conversations and because of the DJ's yelling and the Sploder are mussing up their screens.
I am hemorrhaging guests and staff who understandably don't want to be blasted out of the place. I've tried to speak to the owner of the Club but he doesn't understand a word of English nor I Spanish and babbler's translations are a joke. My questions are is there protocols I can call upon, has anyone encountered similar situations, is there a multi-lingual diplomat out there I can hire to help me negotiate a quieter existence?
Any sensible advice much appreciated

More advice will be coming soon, but I can suggest you just have patience. No clubs last for long.

You might try and recruit a Spanish-speaker to write a notecard and drop it on the owner. Beyond that there isn't anything you can do besides MUTE everything and everyone over there and wait until they close the place - which could be a few weeks or a few months, but close they always do....

create a prim that shouts every 5 seconds "stop the ******** SHOUTING" and then mute the object every other day create a new copy of it so they can mute all they want

Consider moving up to a skyhouse until the club has disappeared. Same parcel, just a few 100m higher. The shouting will not reach up there. You could place an easily accessible teleporter at ground level to allow fast access for your guests.

I had the same issue, and I politely asked the owner to keep it down.
She did.

I use a megaprim for my skypad and I don't have lag but I do have very weird camera movements. My pad is at 700m Is this the same problem? I'd discuss it nicely with the owner. Hopefully something nice will come of it. If it doesn't then I wouldn't hesitate to have objects shouting all the time. Hell, I'd even pay friends to stand there and do it for me. At least they'd be more productive than campers.

I get weird cam movements everwhwere, but the biggist one would be when focusing on the inside of a hollow prim (any size) it tries to bounce the camera out... megas are actually not as bad about it, never had a height issue with them either, urban legend
and that box should only respond to shouting, and shout back "No Neccesito Gritar, Por Favor !!!"

Why mention he's spanish? What does the fact he's spanish have anything to do with this? It's a person shouting or doing whatever it is he's doing, plain and simple. Where are all you self righteous souls now? I bet had it been mentioned he was gay there would be an uproar questioning why mention he's gay.
Double standard as always.

Double standard as always. Maybe he was shouting in Spanish? Or couldnt speak English when she complained. A babbler is mentioned .. so maybe thats it. Other than that i cant see why either

Actually, Zero Linden confirmed that megaprims at sim borders and above 512m do cause lag. Something to do with inter-sim communication. For details, please refer to the megaprim FAQ: /8/c0/208385/1.html

Double standard as always. I think any shouting is irritating but it's even more so when it's in a language we don't understand. It might as well just be gibberish when that happens. It's a perfectly natural human reaction.

The fact that the other party speaks a foreign language is highly relevant - since it prevents the OP from being able to effectively communicate with them to resolve his issue. Dock the boat.

For details, please refer to the megaprim FAQ: /8/c0/208385/1.htmlnever seen anything from Zero, but Andrew in the above linked post (#43) states clearly that while there is a trade off in broad vs narrow phase collision handling, there is no clear performance difference between a lot of little prims, and one big one. sim crossings, yes if it's being handled by a second sim, no if it's being placed offworld. I've NEVER seen a difference in handling them above 512, even between comparable non-mega versions.... @Ricardo aside from the language barrier, there is also a different social structure, which is also relevant, and also newbiness, since I've noticed a large recent influx of central/south american users. different customs lead to different expressions. if you play MMORPG's you'll see each region has it's own speech patterns and acceptable usage / actions. sometimes they clash.

This would be on purpose, and I don't think the patrons of the club realize they are being disruptive. Especially if they do not speak English. Best bet is to find a translator, send the owners a notecard

Double standard as always. It was relevant because of the communication problem.

On Monday (normal working hours for SL Premium Account Support), contact Live Chat and explain the problem. Request for a Spanish Speaking Linden to assist.
Why LL normally does not get involved in Resident-to-Resident disputes, you are well within your rights (under the Community Standards) to file an Abuse Report on the club owner. However, in this case, I think a quiet visit from a Linden (who speaks Spanish) could alleviate the problem without the need to resort to putting the "black mark" of an AR on your neighbor's record.
Be sure to explain to the Linden in Live Chat that you're not asking for resolution, but simply for help in bridging the language barrier in order to prevent the need to send in an Abuse Report to the already buried Abuse Department. If, at that point, Live Chat tells you they can't help, save that chat and file an AR on your neighbor and let the Abuse Department handle it. I reccommend sending the copy of the Live Chat transcript to the Abuse Department via a Reply e-mail to the auto-reply sent for any AR. This way the Abuse Department will know you did try to resolve the issue yourself.
