I need help finding a shop

And not just any shop. I need to find a perticular store. One I was in earlier today but left and couldn't find my way back to. Forgot to take the coordinates like I thought I would.

Anyway here's a description of it as far as I can remember. The shop is two stories high but the second story is just a see through ledge. It goes around and the walls are filled with clothes. This store also handles hair and that's why I want to go back there.

You see they have two lucky chairs in leopard print that with 4 minutes apart change the letter. The prices are hair and in one case a file beginning with the name Zhao. They also have one file starting with ::Indigo::

I tried searching on Google and it seems this store doesn't advertise or I would have been able to backtrack.

I couldn't even find the freebies I had gotten from it.

I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd give it a shot.

check below the TRASH folder and see if your freebies are there, or you can check the OBJECT folder to see if its there. there may be a landmark or notecard to refer to there.

Thanks for trying, but I went trough each and every bit of clothing and there's nothing in my objects giving a slightest hint.

In inventory, right click on one of the items you got there and select Properties. This will pop up a window with the creator's name and a button linking to to their profile. Check their Picks and Classified tabs for the store name/location.

That's the other thing.. I can't remember what the freebies were.

lol, I don't know what to tell you then. There are too many shops in SL for that description to ring any bells. You might pick up the free version of Mystical Cookie's MystiTool HUD...I believe it has the teleport history function intact which, while it won't help you now, could help you avoid this problem in the future.

Can you recall any of the surroundings, other buildings around the shop, anything like that? That might help identify the place.

Another idea maybe: sort your folders by date, filter to the last 24 hours, see what comes up on top?

How about checking transaction history in your SL account? If you got freebies they should show up as a 0L transaction.

Thanks everyone for your help but it was as if I never was there. No records anywhere. I've crashed 3 times but that shouldn't make any difference.

I know the place was high up in the air after a long staircase and the walls were dark red I believe. The floor was white and in the middle was a picture of a woman lying on its side. The same picture was used for that Zhao prize.


EDIT: I joined yesterday, that's why prizes are so urgent. I currently have L$24 from money trees. I can't do surveys (wrong country) but I made one about SL, but the money hasn't shown up. It said it would tomorrow.

If you only needed it for the lucky chairs, do a search for lucky chair and hop around to see if you can find ones with your letter. You can also join Lucky Chair groups which I believe announce letters.

You can also visit the newbie freebie places like Free Dove for items like skin, hair etc.

Yes I just saw it myself. It seems they just payed for an ad. HOOORAY!!

As for the lucky chairs bit, these chairs change so often while the other stores have theirs set on 15-20 minutes. The only other store is the one with 13 Lucky chairs and one Unlucky. I've taken the most from there alread.

But there's a definite lack of good looking hairstyles for newbies. I've ransacked most of the stores for theirs.

Have you been to ETD? She has a number of freebie/cheapie hairstyles in a separate room to the left of the entrance.

etd and gurl6 have a deal where a newbie can pick one hair for free (or cheap) i believe.

I'm not sure ETD is still doing it that way. I picked up several of her Willow (all color) packs from the freebie/cheapie room after the recent remodel and I'm far from new. I think she's just marked a number of older styles way down...something like 0-5L.

Zedja - I can't help you find the store you were looking for, but good luck and welcome to SL! If you're short on L, you can still have fun hunting around for freebies and cheap stuff. It's out there, but it can be tough to find. Try being a guy!! It's 1000x worse for guys. There aren't a whole lot of hair styles that we can actually buy (compared to what there are for women), let alone freebies.

Diversity Hair also has hair vouchers for newbies. Calla has some great free hair. And slightly off the topic but just so you don't miss out - Sin Skins and Tete a Pied have really nice free skins for members under 30 days old, so be sure to grab them if you haven't already.

I did find the store I wanted. Thanks. I've gotten everything I want with the exception of two things.

As for Gurl 6. I got the free style (but not the style I wanted the most. Long story.) as well as bought some of her L$1 collection.

I would get Linden by filling out surveys, but my problem here is that I live in the wrong country. No surveys.

I've been to Calla, unsure if I've been to ETD or Diversity Hairs. I've been all over the place lately. I went to one place that gave a voucher, but they wanted my real name and I don't want to give that out.

Yes there are Unlucky Chairs. They work the same way as Lucky Chairs but they are more morbid. Electrocution, piercing of swords and buzzsaws.

I'd put a strong supporting vote for ETD. They might seem to only have a quarter of Gurl6 but among their range are two of the nicest styles that curl *inwards* .. a rarity I think.

Also...... i personally find Gurl6 impossible to shop at. I have been there a few times, but usually left before I found what I might have been looking for. ETD do great styles IMHO, something for everyone and well organised in terms of lay-out. But that as an a aside.....

Just for the record ... Vlams freebies at Vlanderen are no more. It's a medieval RP sim now with an OOC mall above.

yeah, you dont 'drop in' for a quick visit to gurl6. its like a total event in itself.
i really with she would organise things better like etd. id love to see all the piggies on one wall, all the bobs on another, updos over there, etc.
