Normally people ask for a free sim so they can implement their idea. I want the opposite. I just bought a sim and I need an idea for what I can use it for. Sim is called Clarksburg and it is way way way too awesome to sell. I HAVE to keep it, but what can I put there? Ideas?

Myself, personally, there aren't enough sims which represent classic literature. I personally would love to see Nineteen Eighty-Four done as a sim, but that's just my taste. Gather a bunch of artists together and have at it. _____________________

Maybe a mall, or a combat zone, or a park.....what interests YOU?

I put in a small park on my sim lately, and I've been having more people just come there to hang out...unfortunately, they're also finding their way to my backyard, but they're being respectful, so I'm ok with it...for now.
Anyway, if you have the resources, consider making a nice park area where newbies can go to work on inventory or whatever it is newbies do in their spare time. _____________________

How about a permanent festival site where people can rent land to put up installations for a week or two at a time? A bit like a miniature version of Burning Life.

Well, you say it's way way way too awesome to sell ... does that mean there's stuff there already? Or is it just awesomely landscaped? What's it like at the moment and what aspects do you want to keep as your starting point?
p.s. I am jealous! |

Has a T junction road, also a big deep river, fades from snow to rock to grass plus it's caddy corner to my store in Steamboat (to the southwest)and I already own the northern half of Whiskey (south of Clarksburg). It's basically the most amazing purchase ever. _____________________

It's also PG. Which means... no residential rentals, unless you enforce the no sex poseball rule. You could put some shops in. Some park space would be good. Boat and vehicle rides could also work. An ampitheatre for events would be good. An impressive build for it would be nice.

Poke Jurin Juran and see if she want'd display some art there. I know blackwater has shrunk recently and she's probably got (or has access to) warehouses of sculptures that she doesn't have room to display any more..
edit: or whoever your favorite arts type person is.. Maybe Bettina from NPIRL or do something like NMC did (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUgGgTCbcgE). _____________________

Maybe make a really nice residential delvelopment out of it. Add another road running north/south along the west side of the sim and an east/west road connecting back to the linden road. Put in some nice looking houses and trees, street lights, etc. The parcels at the southern end along the river could be advertised as waterfront.

ooh mainland! it looks great!
Boating, fishing, driving ... do you have enough of a slope for skiing? I'd definitely want to provide a vehicle rezzing area. Do you need to make money from it? |

It's basically the most amazing purchase ever. Given the loss of so mny of the stunning beautiful parks and hang out builds recently (in particular acropolis *sniff*) i would love to see this be turned into a stunning park with cuddles and beautiful little spots and nooks. There isnt enough of this espcially on the mainland. This would be an amazing addition to the SL community, and would be soething I personally would love to visit. However if you are wanting the sim to make money, well this may not be the way (P.S If you consider the parks etc idea I would be willing to donate my time to it, this is something I enjoy in SL and would love to see more of) _____________________

That is an awesome spot (although roads mean nothing to me - I never use them to get anywhere)
The grid does NOT need more shops, nor does it need more clubs. Like several folks here said, something arty would be nice. Some place to explore - maybe something interactive. I love to spend time just looking at what people have created, better yet if it has some sort of activity, puzzle, or story. I've gladly given donations to well-made places that have no other source of income. Idea: taken from the Van Gogh sim, how about creating 3D reproductions of famous paintings that people can walk through? Or, like Ghosty mentions, famous novels. Recreate key settings from film and TV sets (M*A*S*H compound, for example) that shutterbugs can pose with. I don't need more places to shop. I need more things to do ![]() _____________________

Here's an off-the-wall suggestion...
Artsy is good. A non-commercial date spot is good. How about a spin on a little crossroads town...like Radiator Springs from "Cars"? A sim that used to be thriving..now passed by as the world progressed to private estates... Something that captures a feel of good-old-day nostalgia. Room for artsy...and dates. Outside the box...but it's a thought. _____________________

Idea: taken from the Van Gogh sim, how about creating 3D reproductions of famous paintings that people can walk through? Great idea! I'd vote for Hieronymus Bosch. The only piece of RL art I have ever bothered uploading is the heaven/hell/garden of earthly delights triptych. Honestly, the only way you can tell that painting isn't a SL snapshot is that you'd never get that many people in a sim. Oh ... hang on ... it's PG isn't it? |

Put up big flashing spinning neon megaprim walls until Gov Linden gives up that little corner he's kept the other side of the road!

I'd put ruined Roman villas there, like replicas of the Villa Romana from Piazza Armerina.

Not Bosch...MC Esher! Talk about your walk-through art! There is one (fairly small) Escher build in word where you can walk through. Lots of fun. If you can't find it, IM me and I'll send the LM. B. _____________________

I thought the whole thing with escher was that they were 2D optical illusions which wouldn't work in 3D - impossible buildings. I'll have to check that out. |

Start something we have needed forever - a Library of Builds. People can donate notable builds then each month a different build could be rezzed. Needs a librarian but I bet some people would volunteer.
Maybe the archived builds could be shown in pictures, and visitors could vote for the one to be rezzed the next month. _____________________

A bot retirement home. Hear me out. Your bots have given you so much, and it's time to give a little back to the bot community. Make them a nice place to live out their twilight years.
Sincerely, LoveBot. _____________________
