I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in Classifieds but as I'm not advertising anything I figured it was best to go here.

Rha - we are women - we love to talk about our clothes over and over.
![]() And I did, in some other thread, suggest that folks start new threads to rehash the old stuff rather than necro-post so that I could pretend that we are getting new topics. ![]() To OP though: I would suggest you tell us a bit about your tastes. I live for dresses and gowns, while others prefer grunge or neko or goth or just plain casual pants/tops. _____________________

I am more into casual clothes at the moment, I have been wearing jeans and a nicer top/jacket although now I'm a bit bored of the jeans so some other form of trousers or jeans that look a little different would be brilliant. Not really into skirts too much, they don't tend to go with my skates very well!I wouldn't mind some retro style tshirts though, I think those can look great paired with the right trousers. As for hair, I just can't something that makes me think 'wow'. A lot of the longer styles flair out too much, I prefer it to be closer to my body. Am I too picky? ![]() I'm still quite new so haven't even played around with makeup, eyes, etc. I have my skin, clothes and hair but other than that I'm a bit clueless. |

I recommend getting information on any of the grid wide hunts that happen occasionally and participate. You'll get a wide variety of styles that way and can see what suits your personality.

Rha - we are women - we love to talk about our clothes over and over. ![]() heh well not all of us do ![]() I like to create, not discuss and since they said do not plug your own stores, I was unable to post my fav, so I suggested a way they could find the info they seek, while waiting for ppl to post their favs,.. which they are still waiting for... so, meanwhile they can still do the search and find stuff that way too ![]() (I do not mind a necropost once in awhile, it is good to see the old posts sometimes, and review them and check out places that I missed) _____________________

To the OP: Try bookmarking and regularly visiting some of the good freebie blogs out there. They'll bring to your attention some great designers in SL, and you can try the items they blog about for free. It's a great way to find new designers and try out their work before committing to paying for their full-priced items.

I didn't pick up all 10 ornaments - yet, but in two of them were very lovely short dresses, one green/black and one red/black.) |

I can't really recommend places for pants/tops outfits since I don't wear those.
Some of my favorite hair is from ETD (which is having a fab L$20-40 sale through Xmas), Calla, a few from Bewitched, and ummmm - mind drawing a blank here. When I get inworld in a bit, I'll check my inventory and post some more names. I recommend some of the freebie groups and/or blogs also - many of the freebies are good quality and let you get a feel for a designer and how you like their stuff. And as someone else mentioned, the various hunts (usually mentioned in these threads, the freebie and fashion blogs, and in the Events area). ETA: My favorite freebie group is 'Free Style', though there are a few others. My favorite freebie blogs: http://virtual-freebies.blogspot.com/ http://slfreestyle.blogspot.com/ http://fabfree.wordpress.com/ http://bakingcupcakes.blogspot.com/ http://slfreebdollarbluckychairhunts.blogspot.com/ _____________________

I am more into casual clothes at the moment, I have been wearing jeans and a nicer top/jacket although now I'm a bit bored of the jeans so some other form of trousers or jeans that look a little different would be brilliant. Ce Cubic Effect has some to-die-for wide leg, cuffed trousers (very Kate Hepburn) right now worth looking at, and is, by and large, a damn fine place to get casual clothing anytime. As for hair, I just can't something that makes me think 'wow'. A lot of the longer styles flair out too much, I prefer it to be closer to my body. Maybe you should check out BettiePage Voyager's *BP hair. Some very out of the ordinary styles with a vintage feel... _____________________

Ok, ok, ignore this post everyone. I offer suggestions for when you are waiting for folks to post their favs, and you say to ignore my post?? not very nice... oh well and my fav store is my own, because that way I can get exactly what I want... (did not name the store, not plugging it, just saying) and no, do not ignore my post, as it might actually be helpful to some folks.... _____________________

I don't think you are allowed to advertise in this thread. This is a question that you can ask inworld, however, and as many times as you want. I do!

One of my favorites is Owl and Pussycat with Sara Larsen's well designed undies. They seem to have a real looking fabric. slightly transparent, like real fabric.
I also just bought a bra from Plumeria Designs. It was one of the few really nice strapless bras for plunging necklines. Right now I use it with V-Neck sweaters; I will probably want to wear it with spring and summer dresses that have small straps, too small to cover bra straps, and have a low cut in the middle. Most of my shopping (in RL and SL) is on the web. I don't like stores, particularly in malls. In SL there is the problem of waiting for pictures to appear, moving around to see the pictures, etc. Malls in RL have other, but even worse, problems. I usually use Onrez and XstreetSL for shopping. I even Google "second life" and a description of what want. Often then I will find what I want on Onrez or XstreetSL or find a discussion on a blog. Mary |

But I can. I recommend Rha! for nice clothes at good prices. Oh, you can put plugs in this forum but just not mention your own as your favorite? |

Hi Bryony -- Try GiGi Coutour, her main store is out on the Juicy sim...also, she has a second floor that you might not notice right away, but she has sweaters, pants, etc up there also.

I got some really nice hair at Analog Dog, it is long, red, and straight. Comes with bangs too, I love it
