A certain place, whose name escapes me...

So I was at this one place the other night, which had good music. I cannot remember its name, unfortunately, but I'm sure you lot know where it is. I felt very welcome there.

I wonder if the place actually schedules events, or if it's just a whoever-shows-up-at-whatever-time kinda place.

Yes, but it is probably not the same place you were at. Only about 1000 clubs/events/etc active on the grid at any one time on the weekends.

If it is the place I think it is I have to get over there myself soon.

I heard someone made a hud device that announces events that go on there. Maybe someone else knows about that?

It wasn't the Shelter, but we have great music So it could have been. You just haven't been there though.

We are kid friendly though, we have a few kids that stop by.

If it is the Place That Shall Not Be Named, yes there are events scheduled on a regular basis. Anyone is welcome to schedule an event there, just make sure the day and time are clear.

The HUD will tell who is visiting, it can be pretty useful.

I remember the Shelter - I visited there when I was a really newbie. Saw some videos there. It is cool - but not the place I was talking about. Though, it is good to know you don't mind kids - may have to drop in there sometime.

ASSUMING just for a moment that it's the place I was talking about - which, of course, it very well may not be, but for the sake of argument - how might one (hypothetically) go about gettin' this alleged HUD?

why not just say you were at the cartel hangout?

I am still confused as to why folks think it is funny, or clever to not name it and play the highschool games of "that place that shall not be named"

for those still lost on what place it is, my guess is it is the Forum Cartel Hangout.

If it is not that place, then just come out and say what place it is, THEN someone can help you to know if there are events and such and how to keep up to date on them. (most places, including the cartel, have groups for announcements and such, but me thinks you knew that)
you were just bored and wanted to start another thread about the hangout (that would be my guess)

Because I started a thread last night on the same exact subject, naming the Hangout explicitly, and that thread doesn't exist anymore for some reason. I can't even find those posts in my posting history. Somebody opined that it was either the mention of the place itself, or the mention that the place is tolerant of kid avs, that caused somebody to AR the thread and get it erased.

This was an experiment to see whether talking about the same place without mentioning the name would still get the thread erased again.

No no - the posts don't even show up in my posting history, or the posting history of any of the participants (such as I remember, anyway). It's been disappeared.

sorry for being miffed, however if it is because of the cartel, we will soon know, as this one should also be shut down (IF that was the reason) which I highly doubt.

To justify mods existing perhaps? They don't do anything else.

I can think of other things that mods might erase. What's so special about the Hangout that it would be singled out for this courtesy?

I don't think it was because of the hangout, the hangout has been mentioned many times
which is why it is confusing to me, the thread (that I recall) had nothing in it to warrant deletion

hell, the thread that never says die (but had die in the topic) is still going....
