Private Places to Change Clothing?

I'm running into this problem where I just don't have a place to get dressed. What's a girl to do? I can't be seen exposing myself in public places (ok, well, I can, and have, but risk the obvious sexual innuendos of every man nearby). I try to find secluded areas and hide behind some bushes or whatnot, but sometimes it can take a while to decide what I want to wear and I'm concerned I may be imposing on someones Private Idaho.

Yesterday, I did a search of "private changing rooms". I didn't come up with many but thankfully the one I found had a lovely women in there (it was public) who was very helpful to my semi-noobie status. I'd just gotten a load of freebie clothing (surprisingly, much of it quite nice and my taste) and if it weren't for her teaching me how to unpack it from the boxes, I may have been wearing said boxes on my arms

So, does anyone have any secret places they can divulge to me, where they go? I don't have the $ yet to buy a home, let alone rent (although I've been looking). Still considering how far I want to go with this.

Make a simple room out of 5 prims, and rez it around yourself when you want to change clothes. Doesn't need a floor, just four walls and a roof, each a 4M x 4M plane.

100 times i've offered my changing room in Shark. it's free and available to anyone for posing for pictures even.

Put outfits together in folders, and right click the folder and add to outfit. Or just wear one piece over another. There are no real reasons to get naked just to change clothes.

But to answer the actual question, Insolence has changing stalls that are quite spacious in the skin section. They are in Venom.

Another possiblity is too fly really high into the air or TP to some deserted open ocean and change under water.

I fogot about the folders!

I guess I was more concerned about standing around and putting things on and off to see how they look, like a fashion show for myself with all the new stuff I got. I thought that would look kind of stupid in some sim.

The folders need to be put together, and I can't do that without seeing all the clothing, and how I want to put the outfits together.

So, a) 3-Ring, I may take you up on your offer, b) try and rez a room for myself (that should be interesting and a learning experience), c) Go to Venom or; d) will learn to swim and fly

Go to the Hanson Infohub (my current Homeless Trout crash pad). When you tp in, you'll see several purple chairs surrounding a firepit. Behind them is a spinning black box that says changing rooms. right click, click teleporte (their spelling, not mine) and it will tp you up to a room that has a bunch of opaque walls labelled "changing rooms" I use them all the time when I'm making clothing or tattoos. I spent a solid hour in one last week when I was Ruthed Beyond Repair (RBR), just trying to fix everything. Think naked Ruth with a goatee and moustache. Horrible experience. I'm all better now, thank you.

BTW, the purple chairs are a great place to sit and watch people pop in and out. SL is full of weirdos. Bring a friend, pull up a chair and just watch the show.

Trout, I can think of no better way to pass the time than to hang out and watch weirdos. Just like being in my RL home town

Two things I did before I had a place to stay:

1. Fly just above the clouds and change there

2. TP'd to Lovelace. There was a huge blimp that floated near the landing point. I would go inside it (will help to develop your flying and landing skills). I only had someone pop in on me once.

You don't have to take off clothing to change outfits...

Also if your outfits are in folders you can chose...

Add to outfit - which will add those items and not remove any other items that don't use the slots needed

Replace outfit - which will take EVERYTHING off and replace it with what ever is in the folder

or.. you can double click the shirt (or other item) and it will only replace your shirt, not leave you without one.

I know of a good one that my wife uses from time to time. The store $25 Diva has a changing room for women on Sterling Meadows.

Did you know you don't have to remove all of your clothes to try on new ones? You can just right-click a folder that has your outfit then select Replace Outfit from the menu. If you have individual items you want to try on, just right-click the item and select Wear - it will replace the item on the body part that's assigned to the item.

And, I don't want to get you upset or anything, but it doesn't really matter where you change, anybody can see you if they really want to; even if you're in a windowless structure the camera can be "walked" right thru walls if done right. And if Camera Restraints are turned off, they can do it from across an entire Sim.

Technically, there is no real privacy in SL, unless you find a Sim that's completely empty of other avitars, or rez a sky box high enough that nobody notices it (with you in it).

You can change clothing items without getting naked - they just replace the other. The only thing you might be sensitive to is underwear/lingerie/silks for your own fashion show. But other than that... just wear the pieces, they will replace what you are wearing.

Eeeeevil option...if you're not careful, it leads to being bald and naked in a public place, except for perhaps a pair of shoes.

Just look for apartment rentals. Most of them are open for you to inspect before you pay the hippo box. It's perfectly legitimate to try out the vacant apartment, including shutting the blinds, to see if you would be comfortable changing in there, on the chance that you decide to rent in the future.

And if you're afraid to try it, then try it in mine. The only one who would bust you would be me, and I wouldn't care.

I'm the same way. Weird, isn't it? I use the changing rooms at Hanson if I'm going to be even shirtless for a while in public, other than swimming pools or beaches. Anybody who wants to can see me, and frankly, it's just my avatar and he's WAY better looking than I am, so I don't care. It's just me transposing my RL values and mores into SL, which is silly, but it makes me comfortable to do it that way. Immediately after doing that, I'm likely to go do something that I wouldn't do n a million years in RL, so who knows what that's all about.

A psychologist would have a field day with me.
