One thing I'd like is for land owners to be able to ban by ISP. A ban for a rabid greifer by name alone is kind of useless as they can just make a new alt.

We wouldn't have to see their ISP, just that the LL bans are based on it and it could have a few variations in place with wild cards to cover slipping and changing ISP's.

This would be good for general grief but also for the vigilantes, as if they actually could get on the land they'd have less basis for trying to police it.
Taking out someone by ISP would mean taking out entire global regions in some case. Most ISPs have the monopoly in the region they operate so you won't find alternatives without physically moving to another region. Ask any Australian, this would be a BAD idea. (>_<;)

I used to use the mIRC program a bit and it worked there fine, your right in that to many wild cards could block a whole ISP and it wasn't totally fail safe. But it kept grief out in general.

There was a method for numeric addys too

It might be to broad to use in SL or not programmable. On this I have no idea.

Maybe they the ban could work on the entire SL account of the griefer for the parcel or sim.

I just would like something that can keep a griefers alts out too otherwise it seems kind useless to even ban or mute griefers if you need to.

Do you mean ISP as in Internet Service Provider, or did you mean IP address? Big diffo.

To be honest, I don't know which it was, I don't know much about the technical side of all that, just that it used to work pretty ok.

There must be plenty of other methods though apart from that one if isp's/ip's wouldn't work. I'm thinking of someway for the SL ban command to ban the users account not just the av or an alt on a parcel of land.
