Dolcett is the sexualization of the murder and mutilation of women. It is illegal in most civilized countries. Artwork portraying such acts get the immediate attention of the real world authorities. As they are usually produced by serial killers or those high risk to become serial killers.

Why on earth is Dolcett allowed to continue to exist in Second Life? When things like Age Play have been purged, post-haste by Linden Labs?

Ah, but remember: Serial killings and other violence is perfectly within the ToS. It is the nipples which corrupt America.

I have yet to hear of this ever being disallowed in SL. :-/

Coming from someone who is typically an underdressed child avatar with a collar and a missing eye... Your world. Your imagination. (^_^)y

Wouldn't it fall into the 'Broadly Offensive' category? ARable.

Put it in the search and you will have a good sampling of how widespread it is. It's extremely prohibitive for a single person to file that many reports when you have hundreds of instances in the search.

And typically, Linden Labs does nothing about it unless they get at least 5 abuse reports on the same location regarding the same thing.

I don't believe dolcett *art* is actually illegal in the US, though.

You could try not searching for it and don't go to places that have it. That usually works for me.

I would think so. It's among the most extreme of the extreme in Second Life.

Age Playing feeds the fantasies of child molesters and and potential child molesters. Any depiction of children engaged in sexual acts has already been explicitly banned from Second Life.

Dolcett is as bad or worse on the same score. In that it feeds the fantasies of serial killers and potential serial killers. What I'm saying is that Dolcett is on the very same plane as Age Playing.

Seeing how in a Google search there top 50 were dolcett sites with images before there was even a return that explained it, I can't see how it is 'outlawed'. Sick.. yes.. outlawed, no.

While it goes in a list of items that I will avoid, since there is no law against that type of artwork, I can't see LL making a stance on it.

Wait.. you're a submissive of Earalia's and you're here trolling about Dolcett?

You should really check with Earalia before you go railing off like this...

If it is illegal in the us then i know about 10 art galleries i have been to in the past year that are breaking the law. Of course all the are i have seen in galleries is stage, does not depict an actual crime just everything people staged to look that way. Which i guess would be the same as sl, its not actually happening its just made to look like it is.

::if part of this makes no sense and i am rambling sorry, just woke up::

Earalia is a friend. Nothing more. My opinions are my own. And she has nothing to do with them.

Trolling? The only one trolling is you. By invading and delberately disrupting this thread.

I don't know what else you were expecting? For everyone to jump on the AR bandwagon with you? It does seem trollish. I do agree the topic is disturbing, and if you really are concerned and not trolling then I think you approached the subject wrong because it comes across as trying to stir things up.

I'm curious as to how one can label an imaginative (and therefore, by definition, not real) exploration of something "dangerous." Thoughts don't kill people, so far as I know.

If Dolcett is banned, what about vampires or other RPG monsters who "hunt" humans within the confines of their game rules? Surely this could be viewed in the exact same light?
