black lists never work because they become tools to use against people and businesses..
there is too much drama and the ability to edit logs and too many cliques that i would ever trust one..
too many of them have started out with good intentions and turn corrupt..

I don't think anyone here has proven the photographer is selling the photos. The OP made that assumption but has yet to give any proof to anyone of us here.

what kind of "proof" should I post? the photographer's name and the SLURL to where they are selling our photos?

even though the photographer was not respectful to me, i don't want to post all their info and act like him.

why would i even make something like this up?

as far as why we didn't take snaps of ourselves, this is a really good photographer. the pics cost a fortune, but they photoshopped in different backgrounds/themes etc that i don't know how to do.

and yes, i did ask the photographer to remove our pics plastered for sale everywhere and he said no.

Though I'm in favor of some way for residents to publically warn others of fraud or wrong doing of businesses within SL, comments like the above sure does point out a very big (and potentially dangerous) flaw in any such "group".........make an accusation and then it's up to the accussed to prove it's false or unwarrented. Any group would have to do as the BBB does.........INVESTIGATE. And that would near impossible in an anonymous world such as SL.

Hmmm. The pictures hanging on the photographer's wall with prices on them? Or did you mean proof that the photographer 'has' actually sold any?

ALL of the photos taken of us and more of people that we don't know are displayed all over the photographer's gallery with a price below them. you can right-click and buy them.

i do not know if any have been sold or not, just that they ARE available fro sale to anyone.

as far as unethical..ya i would say it's pretty tacky thing to do without asking the people in the shots first..
the more i look at it the worse it begins to sound as doing bad business..
i mean at some point you know there is gonna be tension with a customer..
why would a business owner want to premeditate that kind of thing?

for a gallery to display work you have done is one thing..but a photographer knows that if people are coming to them for pictures with their partner ..they are not gonna want them in other peoples homes hanging on walls..
it's just bad business even though i guess they can get away with it..

And you hired this photographer? Did you not visit his/her store first? Seeing pictures of others "plastered" on the wall with little signs quoting the price of each picture would seem to be a big tip off that your photos would wind up there too.

As for offering "proof"........I don't think you can do that in these forums (its against the ToS). I will tell you that I happen to think what the photog did was quite unethical.......bordering on dispicable. But you asked what your recourses were. They are next to nothing. You can tell all your friends (and even people who are not your friends) all about the photographer.........including names, location of the store, etc. But you cannot do that here. You can talk to Linden Lab about the issue.....but I doubt it's going to satisfy you anymore than my comments have so far. And they will require some sort of proof......perhaps them visitiing the store. I doubt they well even do that......it's not against any ToS or CS of Second Life. You don't own the rights to the pictures......the photographer does.

I still have a problem with someone paying another for taking a profile picture. That picture is so small and of such poor quality anyone (yeah even someone who doesn't know now) can do a pretty good job. "Glamor", wedding, "portfolio", or artistly posed pictures are something else.........they will almost always require some sort of editing to make them really good. But, we are talking about a profile picture...........or, at least, that's what you said.
