This is a good chance to try the Papermint beta, or at least sign up for it.

you know so many people are just camping addicts.. I think we should solve this issue by not allowing camp chairs .. let people earn L dollars by chasing down those linden trees stop restricting to new 30 day old avs and let the fight it out for the trees.
Now can i get paid for solving this issue for LL I accpet payment in lindens waves to the GOD OF SL . |

Paying customers to SL should not have their access blocked during these times. If your a paying member you should be given access to long on. Only on such an extreme case to not be able to log on is if they log everyone off for a security issue. I pay money to Linden Labs & I expect to be able to log on!!!

Thats why I dropped my premium service. I wasn't seeing where I was getting any real advantage by paying, so why bother. |

So if I was able to log in this afternoon while there were well over 61,000 "people" there and now I cannot because there are 59,000, what is the definition of higher-than-usual load?

Everybody in SL flushed their toilets at the exact same time. When that happens in the building where my RL alt works, the fire alarm goes off. No, I don't know why. It just does. _____________________

Higher than "Usual" Load means "Our favorite TV show is on so we can't babysit our 4 year old-out of date servers, also we haven't yet made our piss-off the paying customers quota yet and we don't want corporate on us....so too bad"

Yeah well really locate this issue remove and destroy issue create a solution to prevent unhappy linden crazed people who cant buy lindens. I remember back to my early days when I just wanted a simple 1000L to buy clothes for my av to make me not look as bad.. I truely feel for the people who want to join the game and can not afford to buy lindens another matter lindens doesnt help with is the 30 days limit on the amount of lindesn you can buy when your new. I think a few changes in both these area's would help. LL can improve things for new people buy giving them a store that they can buy clothes from stores who donate freebies In return sl gives the stores free advertising and people can when they eventually can buy more lindens visit the stores and buy more thus creating a win /win situation for both sl and the people who create clothes. |

Solution
09-01-2008 17:58
What kills me is. Every time i submit a ticket to LL about region performance issues their Smug reply is always the same..
Linden Labs says Hello Dilbert We have come up with a solution to your recent region problems and we have determined that the high number of avatars on your region is the cause of all your problems. We advise you to reduce the amount of avatars on your region and also reduce the amount of Scripts running. Me knowing this is a BS cop-out solution . I just laugh at it and move on. Restart region a few times to find a good running host. But why shouldn't they take their own advice. obviously every time the grid reaches 63,000 plus users all hell breaks lose and system meltdown occurs. Never fails. . well known and obvious So My solution for LL is Hello Linden Labs Residents of second Life have determined that you are allowing too many avatars to enter your grid, in which your current configuration can not handle. We advise you to reduce the amount of avatars entering your grid or Ad more hardware to handle the unusual high load of log ins. If you can not upgrade your system then please close the doors at 60,000 users and disallow bots because you are creating a living hell for the residents who pay you for this service. And turning off new residents who are signing up. Just really baffles me why they have topped off at this number and will not upgrade properly.. Just my 2 cents.. not worth much but is very annoying not being able to get in because too many people logging in above and beyond what their system can handle _____________________

Stores for Newbies....
09-01-2008 18:03
There are lots of stores for newbies...and FREE too! Freebie Dungeon is one, and there are lots others! If only newbies 'camped' then that would not be an issue, but ppl create mega alts just to sit and camp for lindens. I was a newbie too 4 years ago...now I earn a 'living' by creating stuff to sell. There are many a newbie that has a new look thanks to me who gave them shapes, skins and even a few lindens to shop with. I think we have enought loafers in RL....don't need them in SL Too! It's a land of opportunity, and easier to comeby than in RL itself!

Lots of stores DO donate freebies, and there are groups you can join that designers send notices of new freebies out to. But yea, free advertising please oh wait, forgot about forum classifieds_____________________

Hee! I've been in all day and even though I got little blue boxes that said logins have been strangled and don't rez anything you cherish and oh yeah, hey don't buy anything! I've managed to stay in. *insert gloat here* Well it wasn't all that great though. The lag was vicious and hopping from sim to sim hunting full perm animations isn't much fun when you're walking through walls and off the edge of sims.
Somebody can have my spot now, I'm pooped. _____________________
