Yup

From: Grid Status Reports
[UPDATED] Teleport/Login/Rezzing issues

[UPDATED 15:30] Ops is continuing to work to resolve the networking issues. Some residents are still experiencing login, teleporting and rezzing issues. As a precaution, residents should continue to avoid rezzing valuable/no copy items until the issue is resolved.

[UPDATED 14:35] The network issues may also affect the ability of some residents to login or rez objects. As a precaution, residents should avoid rezzing valuable/no copy items until the issue is resolved.

[REOPENED 14:21] Network issues are again causing an increased incidence of teleport failures. Ops is aware of the problem and is working to correct it. Please monitor this post for updates.

[RESOLVED 09:49 am PDT] The network problems have been fixed.

They need to fire the linden who decided shutting down all logins in times of "increased load" to be a fair and good idea.

Restrict the )#(*$)($ bots already....

Actually, they need to fire about half the twits. Perhaps starting at the top. It must be hard to be a body without a brain.

Still can't log in ...

at 6:54PM CST on Sept 1, 2008. "Due to higher loads than usual, logins to Second Life have been disabled until further notice. Please monitor the Grid status page for updates."

The Grid Status page says that the grid is operating normally.

It seems that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Quite frankly, yes.

I pay money for the "premium" service and for a company supposedly in business to make a profit SL doesn't appear to have enough reliable uptime to earn any.

Login Failed: Due to higher than usual load, logins to Second Life have been disabled until further notice. Please monitor the Grid Status page for further updates.

Really, it doesn't take much to notice the bots taking over. Almost every time I go to a place with more than 10k traffic there are 20 or so unattended newbie avatars dancing in place for days on end for sometimes as little as $1/30minutes. It seems those who run the bots just don't care, because no matter how little they get paid they can always fire up 20 more bots and send them camping elsewhere.

This latest message seems to make it pretty obvious that there are too many people logged in, so I wonder how many zombie bots are dancing away happily while I'm unable to connect.
