From: Porky Gorky I agree, I have over 50K items and dont see any slowdown when teleporting compared to an alt with only 100 items. I think this is just a myth (one of many) started by the forum know-it-alls who dont know jack. So you found no difference betweent running a 2000 item alt and a 50k avatar in combat, I noticed a difference in combat lag between 2000 and 9000 items, same weapons, same sims, same nights. Maybe it doesn't effect TP, but it certainly seems to affect sim crossings and general movement and seeing teleporting seem to be just sim crossings at high speed, I wouldn't be suprised if it has some effect when things are particularly funky.

No idea whether it affects combat and ive never tried. I rarely cross sim borders and have not experimented with that either. I did do extensive testing of the TP both with inventory open and closed with 4 avs with varying sized inventories and found that any slow down in teleporting was caused by sim lag and packet loss rather than inventory size. I am on a 25MB cable connection so maybe people on lower speed connections experience more problems.

100mbps up fiber optical line. Might be the reason why i don`t have some issues. ( and not a my line is not CAPED ). WHen inventory(s) lag in ( loading status ) its more LLABS side then computer side reguardless of the speed and condition of the connection ( atleast in for me.

some real lag producers are
Particles running scripts poorly written scripts too many listeners in scripts and or scanners(really falls into poorly written scripts) replicators AO's Shields high res textures over 512 some temp rezzers avi's nearing region max. Physics excessive prims in one area extra large prims not clearing network cache , cookies and temp internet files clint side issues of bandwidth, equipment, viruses etc.
Some of these may not be as important now as they were once, the new servers were touted as cleaning up some of it. If lag is to be corrected IMO this is the place I think one should look before the inventory but that said the lag monsters these days are much tamer than some that would raise their heads back in the day, lol
