Missing persons report

Several people over the last few years have gone missing or just never logged on any more, happens all the time. lol I am not nieve, I know they are just either using a new avi or just fed up of the wonderfull world of SL. or even some messed up big style n just don't wanna show their faces anymore. Just thought I would start a thread talking about all the people we miss, friends we have lost or some we didn't even notice had not logged on in months. hmmm sees people now looking at their friends lists and realises you havent seen a quarter of them in months. Some don't even realise how much they are missed because they havent logged on to see their IM's if they have chosen not to have them sent to email. Some were alot closer to you than that, best friends and lovers but just disapeared.

Some people get bored and take time away like myself..i log in to pay my rent then log off..
it's been this way for more than a month now..summer is meant to be outside for me..

I miss Sandy Carver. I had a bit of a crush on him but never approached him. I have a weakness for Brits.

I miss Khristal Sands...one of the nicest people I've ever met in SL. Hope all is well for him.

I miss Core Janus, was like I lost a limb when he left and PiperitaPatty is missed alot too. Wonders if they have come back as other aves and spoken to us since they left originally. Truth is only they know why they left and stayed away, they all have their reasons but would love to know if they are OK. If you are someone who just loggs in every couple of months or so, don't forget to drop your friends an IM just to let them know you are alive, sombody might be missing you

I miss a lot of folks I have met over the last couple years, that have either drifted away, or 1st life has them too busy to log in

some more than others

I am happy to still have many of my friends still active and still keeping in touch

I'd certainly like to know what happened to Rowland Ribble. She dropped off the face of SL, and her (presumably) Premium account went away, but she wasn't the type to do anything that could have gotten her suspended or banned. Where are you, Ro?

I miss Griffin Loll ... he was such a sweetheart, and a mentor. He just was suddenly gone one day. :`(

I often wonder, as our avatar friends drift away from us, how would we ever know if they had passed away rl? or gotten very ill or in an accident?

I run a group that helps new residents to SL. I find many come out of curiosity...some come for companionship, some come for the easy access to deviant behaviours. But whatever they come for, my group welcomes them and helps them. It is easy to develop new friendships, too. I have many. When I look at my group list, though, I realize that some have stopped coming to sl. I miss them all.

Understandable, SL is not for everybody. Many come and realize it is not a WoW type game and leave from simple boredom. My Noob Buster group has seen all types...

We all know the RL is what we have to focus on. It is where we live...

I gave my mother's name and phone number to my partner (and yes I have a LOT of trust in him to do this) in the event I would someday just disappear. I trust him to ONLY use it in that event.

I miss a wonderful friend who I met in the first week of SL in the role play sim. Although we were both very busy in other venues and didn't see or interact with each other much, he was the person who was most supportive last year when my father was dx with cancer. He lives in Spain so when I would log in very early in the morning due to not being able to sleep, he would IM me immediately and be the bright spot of the beginning of the day.

One day he just...poofed. I asked after him and none of his regular friends had heard from him either. His grandmother died so he took some time off to attend her funeral, but then never returned. I heard that the reason he may not have returned was due to a SL heartbreak that occurred about the same time of his grandmother's death.

I miss Jane Kit. Jane was a mentor and a friend to most in the CI community. She was originally raped, on a boat coming from Vietnam (at least that is how I understand it). I never talked with her about it. After some time she got cancer and was on less frequently. The we got a message from one of her family members that she eventually passed away, in her room, while on SL.

Most in the community built memorials to her and some eventually put her RL picture on one. It was the first time I had seen what my friend looked like. There was such a out pouring of emotions that people wanted to send flowers to attend the funeral. It got to the point that the person eventually admitted that Jane Kit didn't exist.

I cried when I thought she was dead and I was confused to hear that she wasn't even a female. That person finally took on a male ava and removed themselfs from the community. I wish I could say it didn't hurt but to this day.... I miss Jane Kit.

Makes you wonder how many suddenly died or got killed too. The ones who just up and go quietly without any fuss or drama and leave everything untouched, there must be a fair percentage of deaths statistically speaking at least.

A friend and me were talking about this recently, how many people have also gone for RL hookups and never been heard from again? Must be some, again statistically speaking some people in SL will be RL murderers etc.

I know its a kind of taboo subject and not one people like to think about and it is easy to ignore due to the fact you almost never hear anything conclusive. However it is chilling to the bone to realise that it must happen to some.

We over at VooDoo miss hadji Ling. He dissappeared for two weeks in June, then sent me an e-mail saying he was sick and had lost 18 pounds. Then we never heard from him again. We just watch the date of his last log in in the group never change. If any Portuguese people knew hadji please let us know what happened to him. Whata great GM he was - all of his staff loved him.

keep shooting, even if your aim doesn't improve with the prctice, you should eventually 'not miss' someone

I miss SL... so I'll add a (big) reason why people disappear... loss of net (like me)... library access stinks....
