From: Brenda Connolly Yay! Fashionista Shoe War.
*makes Popcorn. lol btw, i was curious so i did a search for shoes in sl and found many interesting similar threads including this recent thread by someone who was aparently so taken by a pair of shoes she saw someone wearing in-world that she came to the forum to find out where she could find them. and yes they were designed by minx. so i guess that makes at least two of us that like minx lol. /327/a2/270644/1.htmlisnt it also interesting that their design and style caused many to mistakingly identify them as having been designed by some of the other favorite shoe desingers in this thread? i guess what im trying to say is it never hurts to show a little consideration and tolerance for people expressing a diference in taste, style and preference than your own.

From: Kian Noriega minx appears to be more youthful, playful and flirty which is more my style and girls my age. not to saying your old They look like stripper heels to me. Not saying you're a stripper. I've actually owned Minx shoes, and inspected them closely...the bases are not great, giving an unattractive squashed foot look - which IS avoidable - and the prim work isn't really that spectacular. Look at this image from her most recent release to see what I mean: /194/54/271675/1.htmlThen compare that to Shiny Things' Footwear Expo release: http://shinythings.wordpress.com/2008/07/12/belles/I do find Stiletto Moody overpriced, overscripted, and somewhat stripperish as well, but the prim work on them knocks Minx on its figurative ass. The issue with SKG, however, is the lack of an unscripted option, not the design of the shoes. I think if a creator insists on using scripts some buyers may not be enthusiastic about, it's in their own best interest to offer that unscripted version as well. In any case, I mentioned Shiny Things, Detour, and FNKY in response to the request for decent men's shoes. I do love Shiny Things' women's shoes as well, but I also wear Maitreya, Tesla, Dark Eden, Armidi, Perquita, Aphrodite Creations, Pixel Mode, Urban Bomb Unit, Boing Frommage, and anything else that happens to catch my fancy at any given moment. From: someone why not just say the shoes you prefer without having to criticise what other peole like in the process. Because, style preferences aside, there are better constructed shoes out there. Besides, conversation is based in large part upon expressing opinions...no one said you had to agree with me. Tell me how much you think the shoes I like suck and I'll argue with you, but I won't accuse you of a lack of consideration or tolerance. It's just a forum, after all, and they're just shoes for our pixel dolls.

I do find Stiletto Moody overpriced, overscripted, and somewhat stripperish as well, but the prim work on them knocks Minx on its figurative ass. In all fairness, you do realize that Stiletto Moody and Shiny Things shoes, as well as the rest of the shoes you mentioned, are sculpties and not prims as you allude above, right? Minx shoes, on the other hand, are prim work. The technology between the two are worlds apart. It is inherently unfair to even begin comparing sculpty anything to prim anything. The discussion should not even take place. To find ourselves at a point in which we are even considering a comparison discussion between the two, can only serve as a compliment to Minx. Generally speaking, any prim designed shoe is at an immediate and distinct disadvantage, in regard to texture and construction, when compared to any sculpty designed shoe. This does not necessarily make them more fun to wear though, and this is were Minx, IMO, has the upper hand. They are simply fun to wear. In so far as the pictures you posted are concerned, you do realize how fundamentally unfair it is to also compare what appears to be an "undoctored" in-world picture of worn prim shoes, to that of a stand-alone "doctored" photo-shopped picture of sculpty shoes? Having said that, I personally love Minx. But I also happen to be a bit young so that might explain my current lapse in taste I do find your opinion about their shoe bases not being great and giving them an unattractive squashed look to be rather odd though. I own many Minx shoes and this has never been my experience when wearing them. Ironically, one of the things that I've always found most appealing about Minx shoes is how well they fit and look on our feet. From: Ann Launay I've actually owned Minx shoes, and inspected them closely... Ahem. Not quite sure what to make of this, but I suppose this might have been sometime back in the day when you were much younger. It seems we all wear Minx in our youth, and then I suppose we end up growing up and developing some style and shoe sense.

Minx shoes, on the other hand, are prim work. Yes, of course, I was just comparing newest releases. Even so, Fallingwater's pre-sculpty prim work - which is pretty much everything prior to May 2008 - was much cleaner and better textured IMO. Just one example: I own both of the Shiny Things shoes I've posted and their appearance hasn't been doctored in any obvious way for the ads. In fact, these are the sculpty Belles on my feet in-world: From: someone Ahem. I was still trying to find my way in SL and some people suggested them. I never really liked them though...I was more of a Prim Seduction girl in my youth. *hobbles away, shaking her cane*

From: Ann Launay Seriously? There are worse shoes in SL, but IMO Minx isn't anywhere NEAR the top of the spectrum, in either style or construction. They've got a few pairs I like the look of, but I won't buy them since they don't come with an unscripted option...I don't understand why some creators insist on forcing walk sounds, bling, and/or AOs on consumers. Yes, you can generally turn them off, but if I'm never going to use those functions, why would I want to have to mess with them in the first place? Or drag around useless scripts which may be contributing to lag? AND, they're awfully expensive!
