1. You obviously did not read through all the posts to see that I was not saying the rule was nonsense, but the sense that people would FOLLOW THE RULES.

Another psychic who never met me. Look, I didn't have to read every word - I was referring to your post in which they posted non PG pix in an attempt to harass and humiliate someone else. THAT is the broken rule *I'm* referring to. The old 'two wrongs don't make a right,' also. You are only focusing on one half of this, was my point to you.

From: someone
2. No, no one has a right to humiliate or harass anyone, yet she was humiliated to begin with. I never said it was smart move, I just said she had a right to vent.

Directly contradicted yourself in the same bullet point, there.

From: someone
3. SHE didn't take the pic, she didn't humiliate or harass anyone. No one but the 2 people it was about would have had a clue and one of them was stalking her profile. Nor did she stalk anyone. Where do you get off suggesting she stalked anyone?

Where do *you* get off bringing drama? Well, tell me what it is, then, that she somehow got a pic of her ex with someone else 'naked'? She or someone on her behalf took it and posted it. Sorry, that's pretty stalker-ish.

From: someone
4. The pic was completely unidentifiable.

Except the caption, and their friends knowing who it was? You know who it was, right?

From: someone
6. I never said the rules didn't apply to her.

Yes, you did; when you said she has a right to do this. You can call it 'venting' or whatever, but that doesn't alter the action.

7. The saddest thing are the intolerant, holier than thou attitudes that I have encountered on this forum and in SL who attack people who are just asking questions and treat people like they are ignorant a**holes with no brain if they aren't up to the "regulars" standards.

8. Obviously you are perfect Melita, commit no acts of hurt, make no mistakes and walk on water. Oh and obviously have no understanding of the basics of human nature or a heart that feels.

Wow...persecution complex much?

If you were referring to the "non PG pics in an attempt to harass and humiliate", you quoted the wrong text. You quoted my statement ending in the rule was nonsense, that's what I replied to. That is the context in which I was replying.

What is contradictive about my statement? She had a right to vent, she just went about it the wrong way. Again, I never said it was the right thing to do. And saying she had a right to vent in no way resembles saying she had a right to break any rules or that they did not apply to her.

How is coming here and asking questions bringing drama? I was honest enough to give the outline of the situation, bearing in mind it would reflect somewhat negatively. Without the explanation, the questions I had would have not made any sense.

No names were mentioned anywhere. Again, no one but the two of them would have known what it meant. DO I know? Yes, considering I practically live with her, I am aware of what goes on in her life and who is in her life. These people were RL friends as well as SL friends.

She has no control over what other people do, or send to her. Again, her posting it in her profile was a lapse in judgement on the part of her hurt. Until she received that pic, she had not logged into SL in a long time and had no wish to. She asked no one to do anything on her behalf. So calling her a stalker is way out of line.

Persecution complex, huh?
No, just simple observation.
But then again, it's all subjective, isn't it?

@Marianne - she didn't care who read the profile, it was that she kept hearing about it from the same person. If you don't like what it says, why keep going back to read it and get pissed every time? That's all..

I could turn that back to you - you started this topic and don't care much for the replies you get. Yet you return to it and continue to argue. The people who was revealed as cheaters didn't like it much.

In your first post, you sounded pissed on the behalf of your friend, who had been betrayed by her partner and her friend. Then you start to say that she had not logged into SL a long time and had no wish to do so... it means in my book that she had already ended that relationship. Or do she mean that they agreed that he had to keep an oath of Exclusivity only, no matter how long she stay away from SL?

Considering the ability for others to steal someone's image, let alone the ability to purchase shapes, skins, clothing, etc. that can look like any other avatar, how is anyone supposed to know who the people in that photo are? Other than by whatever is stated in the pic description posted on the profile, written by the 'offended'? The only parties to really know would be those actually involved in creating the photo.

Also, in the TOS statements that have been quoted, is anyone else noticing that little word 'might'??? "might violate Linden Lab's rules against disclosure; or, more generally, might constitute harassment."

Really, it's childish of anyone trying to get back at someone else by doing this, but how does one 'prove' that the photo is actually of the suspected individuals and not just some 'actors' in a scene provided for drama? Are their name tags showing in the photo?

If anything, if it is truly sexually explicit and not 'pg', then I could see it being a reportable offense. Maybe it all depends on how explicit it is or whether the photo is only worth a thousand words to the involved parties.

/me shrugs....just a little different take on it.

Hope everyone gets past it and has a wonderful day!
