Chola-inspired makeup/skin, anyone?

Has anyone seen any chola-inspired skin or makeup in SL? There is a great clip on youtube from a girl who does a great look I'd like to try in SL. She's not a chola, does not know much about cholas (and admits it) but still the look she came up with is super-neat! .

I went by "Starfuker" last night and got a couple of demos, but it's not really what I'm after.

I don't know exactly if you would consider it 'Chola', but Dutch Touch has some skins with similar inner eyeliner. Don't remember if there was a lined-lips look. (Say that 10 times in a row)

Isabeau, thanks for the tip! I'm looking at the Dutch Touch skins right now! I think they are closer.....but not quite!

I may need to buy a couple anyway!

Canimal has some funky skins that might fit the bill. Also Model Skins has some dramatic looks. But Canimal has a series that is close.

I didn't know wearing your make-up like that was considered "chola". Thats how my mom taught me to wear my eye makeup and i have been wearing it like that since i was 15 lol. The things you learn on this board. Did you check over at sin skins, they have some looks that have the really heavy eveliner, similar look.

Leaving aside the fact Gwen is an ORANGE COUNTY WHITE GIRL, her eyebrows aren't thin enough and she doesn't have her lips outlined. She's more OC skate punk.

Jethro, agreed, Gwen is an OC white chick...and her eyebrows are not thin enough, Etc.

The girl doing the "chola inspired" make up suggested that some celebrities had taken some of the elements and incoroprated them in their "look" and she picked Gwen as an example...

mskrazie is more intense for sure....


And it's interesting that there are no ads, that I could find at least, for products in SL that were chola-related....Plenty of urban/grunge/emo/BDSM/gangsta/neko stuff, but nothing chola. A niche that has not made it's way to the virtual world...yet!

Might try Cupcakes, demo a few, it depends how you dress a skin too.

have you tried getting the psd skin files from eloh's blog and making your own
shoudl not be too hard and she has some terrific skins there

that is so cool, and yes, it is kinda along the lines of what I *think* I am looking for.

I've looked at the you tube clip a couple of times and two things jump out...she does a penciled in point at the edge of the eye near the nose and as someone pointed out, the eyebrows are usually thinner.

I'd love to try that skin on and see just what it looks like on me!

As far as doing it myself....I've never done anything like this, but it may be worth the try!

sure adding the demo to the skin now, so will be a couple minutes and will drop them on you

(keep in mind I just did this skin today, so not up for sale as of yet, not sure what I will do with it at this point)

I know eloh is ok with ppl using her skins to make skins to sell, and this is a combination of my own skin, some of her stuff, and more of my own stuff that I learned from her stuff LOL

so I might just replace my old skins, with the new improved one... (I will put them as a new item if I do it that way)

anywho...

i have seen the skins you are looking for but for the life of me cannot remmeber wher ei saw them!!>_<!!

but if they have not already been mentioned try Nomine, GALA, Celestial, and take a walk around the Los Altos Sim. if not meet me in world we can shop together!
also take a look at the retro skins out there too. i do believe some have a similar look as well.
