Then tell me why I got the email when I removed the entire description of my land an hour after the switch over a week ago and stopped posting classified for it?

The mind boggles at the possibilities - they're using old data? Someone forgot to hit 'send' two weeks ago when they were supposed to email everyone? LL's real mission is to prove over and over how incompetent it is?

They truly are a bunch of frigging idiots.

Thanks. I double checked the list, and can't find anything. I have a duplicate parcel on PG land and its listing isn't flagged though, so I need to do a side by side comparision. I am guessing a typo somewhere where peek = pee. I didn't realized that pee was an adult word.

apart from that statement of fact, it could be something as simple as the way that they've designed ad storage. if you've paid for a weeks worth of classified and you cancel it I suspect it just sits there in the database until the renewal date when it's wiped as part of the renewal job run daily. Just because you can't see it and it doesn't show in search doesn't mean it's not there in the database.

It sounds like this was done in a hurry and not tested properly to make sure the selection criteria were tight.

as an aside, i bet it wasn't sent out to any of the other languages. this whole thing has smacked of hitting english speakers only. So only those non english speakers who use english in their descriptions probably got the email.

This is exactly the kind of thing people were emphatically telling them needed to be done months ago. They waited until the day before the land swaps ended to do it.

This is either monumental incompetence, or an act of contempt.

Well, I can't find it. If anyone out there is good at proofreading and spotting dirty words and wants to help, PM me and I will send the url for the search page.

It HAS to be a search word, because I can't imagine any reason this parcel would be adult otherwise.

Anyone else had any luck tracking down which parcel got the adult flag and why?

If it had been properly advertised, they'd had thousands and thousands of requests. I reckon they just did the minimum they had to do.

This is a very fair point, this should have been done weeks ago.

Given the time constraints, if I had gotten such a message, I'd put in swap requests for every parcel I owned.

That would at least get you in under the deadline in case you really do have something that needs to be moved. If you don't, nothing lost but time finding parcels in Zindra to request.

Bonus: more pointless work for them. Tiny vengance.

If you do put in for a swap, you can always say you tried to swap if you get ARed.

Lol. I am considering it. I would like to have swapped for some land in Zindra anyway, but didn't because I felt none of my land met the requirement, so I was out of luck and I didn't want to spice it up and try to get in unfairly. I am a fool every time.

I will note, live chat was no help on this, but they did tell me to submit a ticket about it under the land issues>> I have a question about adult content and Zindra category. Might be a good idea to flood them with that kind of ticket to bring this email and the confusion it has created to the attention of the governance team.

Isn't this email also, um, slightly inaccurate? My understanding was that adult content could be on a private region if that region is flagged as adult, not simply that all adult content must be moved to Zindra.

Is that passage from the initial post an accurate quote? It seems like it might have a transcription error in it. It doesn't make sense to me.

Keep in mind that they didn't save themselves work in not advertising this properly. They opened themselves up to lawsuits if someone gets suspended because of LL's incompetence.

It is accurate. It's very clumsily expressed, but, given that the first sentence is "It has come to our attention that your parcel or classified contains adult keywords or has been categorized as Adult, but that it is not currently located on adult land," (and won't be, assuming this just went out to people advertising from the mainland), it does make sense.

If you are listing the parcel about which we've written to you as "adult," please change the listing because you can't call parcels "adult" unless they are on adult land, it means. I think.

The problem is I got two copies of this email, and I *know* I did not use adult words cause

(a) I practically wrote the wiki page listed above and tested every word personally, and

(b) specifically tested my search entries

Isn't this the same search engine that you type in the simple word, hair and wind up with chairs too?

There's been so much stress, so much back and forth, so much controversy, I honestly just walked away from it all. I did the only thing I could do.. I redesigned my store.

I have 4128sqm. So I went through and chopped out a nice clean rectangle.. 2160 in size. I built a store in this section.. 36x60m. I reorganized my stuff, and waited. I didn't change any ads or listings.. I just waited to see what happened.

My plan then was simply to wait until the last possible day, and file a ticket.

See.. I sell stuff. My shop isn't a sex club, it just has vendors. But among the items I sell there are genitals and fetishwear and bondage gear. But the Lindens were really clear about the fact that we WOULD be allowed to sell "Adult Items" on "Mature Land". But ths double-whammy with the search filtering.. well.. I knew it would be a problem.

But how do you sell genitals, without using related keywords?

Like many here, I got the email too. The automated process has determined that *something* I'm putting in my classifieds or something, is triggering the red flag. So, I put in a ticket.

I told them, I don't care where it is, but I'd like water if it's available.. but all I need is a 36x60 rectangle.

I'm 90% sure they're just going to say "it's not adult enough".. and they'll deny me my switch. But in the event that they do approve it.. I'll set up an identical shop in both locations, and only advertise the adult items on the adult parcel.. then we'll have a race to see whether searc, or word of mouth, is the real driver of sales.

See, I have this feeling that I could remove my search description entirely.. and could stop paying for any classifieds.. and not see more than a blip in terms of sales/traffic.

You can't be sure when they created the list of parcels with adult search terms. For all we know they could have created it a month ago and subtracted parcels swapped since.

They did state that the dirty word list would be dynamic. I think it has changed a few times since it was created. I'm not certain though.

I guess the only way to be sure if you are using current adult words is to see what category of in world search your parcels appear in.

Well, I did check that, both when I edited the listings last, and just now, and none of the words are filtered at adult level.
