The last time I did anything but spend my Lindens on stuff like clothes, GOM was still in existence. I bought a quarter of sim at the very peak of land prices and sold it all owing to performance failure and constant neighbor aggravation.

I've never used the Lindex.

Okay, what you'd do - set your exchange settings to 'advanced' and offer a 'sell' order at an amount unlikely to be purchased any time soon - say, offer the $L at 250 per US dollar, and the amount will be subtracted from your available balance, but sit there as an offering.

Or if you want to convert it to USD credit, offer it for real, say at 264 per US dollar, and it will sell off in a few days. Nobody else can see your USD credit balance, as far as I know.

If it's a lot, you can even spend a dollar at that point for a financial transfer, and have the excess USD credit paypalled to your bank.
