Need to find some good clubs. Search doesn't seem to be doing it for me.
The criteria are these:
1. Not too big or laggy. 2. Good music with accessible deejay. 3. On European time between say 8pm and 1 am GMT (The US clubs are on too late really) 4. Friendly reception. (I was in a German club and a guy shouted I hate the English) 5. Any style from Trance, Dance, Disco 60's 80's etc but not Jazz, Folky or Ballroom.
Any suggestions please folks?

Check out the Tiki Lounge on Hedonistic Isle - All styles of music played, events run from 10am SL (6pm GMT), great friendly people & staff, awesome place to go in my opinion!

Hi Birdy and welcome. Yes, search is like Russian Roulette these days. I'd suggest Taff's Bar in Cymru as a candidate. I think it fits all your criteria there Also Mons. I don't know the sim name but the owners have re-opened after a previous club which was one of my top three. Non-European but heck, I like them

Tiki is an interesting and entertaining venue I agree. They do like revamping their surrounding shops. I think we're on about version 4 since I discovered the place

Just been to Tiki but found it unbelievably laggy on account of the fact that there were dozens of campers there earning a mere L$6 an HOUR! All sitting and standing doing nothing. It took an age to rezz. Spoke to "management" but didn't get a response. Might give it another go when there's music on.

Birdy, I'm pretty certain there's a live DJ at Taff's friday evening around 9 I think. The lounge at Tiki takes a little finding for the first time. Those shops do slow things down a bit but when you find the dancefloor (which is not on the beach) it's great fun.

Birdy, Recommended it to someone before on this Forum - still think it's worth visiting and meets all your criteria, IMHO. Bubblegum Music Factory & Shops, Torva (130, 130, 43) See you there sometime perhaps.

For outright sleazy, outfit showing-off, bump- and grinding rock, try Sanctuary Rock. Don't get the group tag - they spam a lot with announcements and I find that annoying. The entrance is laggy and you have to run through a mall but once on the dancefloor it's loads of fun. Cloud Nine is nice for quiet formal dancing if you don't mind the clouds and Barry Manilow Never laggy for me. New place I tried (thanks either Claire or Lil - can't remember who sent us there) is a place called Bogart, for Jazz. Formal, not too laggy but not deserted, either. For casual, my fave is Toby's Juke Joint. Blues. Oh yeah, Industry Rock is fun if you like that sort of music. Very friendly place.

Tsk....we have everything except the music...lol. Summertime Blues is low-lag (specifically designed that way), we hold events at 8am SL time on the weekends, specifically for the Europeans and it's friendly. Oh well

Try the Binary Star Cantina - good crowd, good music, and not as geeky as you might imagine!!
See from my email they have a grand reopening tonight so it might be as good a time as any to have a taste.

I like Sanctuary but it's too laggy. Nocturnal Illusions is my current favorite.

Wow. I have visited most of these spots to get LM's Thanks everyone. Some excellent choices. Will be doing the rounds with my friends. If you like 80's try Miami Vice and tell the deejay Dieter that Birdy sent you.

Best European place by a MILE That I have found is Crown & Pearl, in Oropesa!
Events are all at Euro friendly times, there is NO lag that I can discern and I have a crappy computer. The people are really friendly and there is no spam on the group channel. It gets really really busy and there is something going on all the time. So got to give them a huge plug.

I like these:
The Pier - outdoor...well, it's a pier. Great music, friendly.
Blackhearts Cafe - 80's place -fun.
Darkside Sim - It's the goth club on the not on the RP side, I think it's called "Shadowside". Very friendly to new folk and always full of people. Nice mix of dance music.

I'm wanting to do some dance events at my place, but wasn't sure there was demand. Have a fantastic DJ (whom some of you will remember from my events at the Temple) and looking forward to a little free time to run these again.
Also considering running some blues evenings and some rock evenings (and maybe some CLASSICAL evenings at some point, esp if teemed with a BDSM event ... well that works for me maybe not for you).
I was going to change my profile to reflect this and put in a SLurl but hey guess what, 503! So I'll namecheck it, Wayward Strand. It's semi-public and non-commercial.

If so you can check out Club Penumbra. If I am doing my calulations correctly, we have a live DJ/events during the times you specify. Also Club Industry is a great club for mostly industrial in the German timezone. For 80s/90s music Blackhearts is very good as well thats generaly busy 24/7 Hope this helps.
