It's more why was he using it in a manner to get banned.

I have toys in my inventory that if used improperly would get me banned (including a fourlegged huskeh avatar iirc with a hike leg animation... good for making a friend of mine squeal in her oh so cute voice...)

The makers are safe from banning, because when you buy something... it's your problem if you don't use it like an adult with an understanding of the reprecusions.

It's like the guy that cussed out the owner in group chat when he got a perm ban from a sim for using the bloodlines toy and requesting bites from folks.

Nobody's ever complained about me dropping an anvil on their head. Sheesh.

That never gets old.

i dont understamd WHY this stuff is allowed to be sold IF it cant be used.
You are SERIOUS in not understanding this?

Did you and hubby just come over from the Teen Grid?

Ah. So you are saying then, that there is proper way to use a 'F--- his head' animation, an adult way that one should not be banned for........(keeping in mind this is an animation that doesn't require permission). What might be a proper, adult way to utilize it?

I see people using what sounds like the same animation as a joke now and then, without anyone getting bent out of shape over it. It's a matter of making sure that you only use it on targets who have a broad enough sense of humor.

I don't understand WHY people use it when common sense says not to annoy other people without need.

unless its ban lines of course then you can get away with it.....

Sure.. with a group of friends that are into that type of humor. It is just like a dozen other annoying gestures and animations. They have thier limited place and time. I have even been known to stand around with a certain group of people getting crazier and crazier unitl other things pull us away. I personally like that candy that looks innocent but when people eat it (wear it) thier head blows up.

Amongst friends with a sense of humor and don't take it as anything but a fun joke. Much like many of the other joke toys (like the peein on the leg animations for my feral)

Ah, ok. Friends. Not walking up on a stranger, who's minding his own business on his own land, and just executing it. ok, got it. Actually I agree with that, I have laughed at things like the farting anim, a friend showed it to me. It was funny because it was a friend.

I don't understand WHY this stuff is purchased by people who FAIL to use COMMON SENSE in the application of such gag tools resulting in their getting BANNED.

Go figure...It is so juvenile.

Hint: If you are the only one laughing, then no one else thought it was funny. Maybe your Hubby can take home that as a "Lesson Learned".

You can use that stuff in areas that allow it. There are special places where you can go and battle with others that also want to use these things. However when people are spending their precious time building etc they dont want strangers disturbing them and wasting their time by planting fart objects or cages on them. Its slightly annoying.

OMG that brings back some memories...my best friend and I were living in a lovely rental in New Paris when we stumbled on that one in a box of freebies. HILARITY! Only ever deployed it on each other of course. I've somehow lost it from inventory though...should probably dig up another one.

The thing that suprices me most, is all those weapon huds with orbitters, crushers, cagers and so on... and then people calling them "security hud"???

All those others are just jokes (good or not, matter of taste) that you should use when you know the target can laugh about it.

targeting new people with that is childish and lame and can get you ARed.

How many do that on Newbies cause they think that new people don't know about ARing yet? well what if that target is a freshly created alt? then the joke's on you.

However......he absolutely has ZERO understanding or concern for anything to do with SL. He simply would not, could not, take it seriously on any level. He's very much a here and now type.....very grounded in visceral 'real' life. So....he would come into SL and whip out a few gadgets and probably laugh himself to tears over tripping people up.....because he can't fathom how ANYone could take it seriously.

I would be willing to bet.....there's griefer types out there.....who if we knew them IRL....we'd never suspect.....or they're very very likable people who just don't happen to see the SL experience the same. :p (and then of course, the rest are just morons lol)

Frankly, another word for not having any feeling for the appropriateness and respect for others' limits and choices would be "sociopath". For some reason, that's generally considered more acceptable on the Internet, probably on account of the anonymity/pseudonymity.
As a previous analogy went, try pulling this in RL. Walk into a pub and pull out the plug to the TV because "you can't fathom how anybody could take running around with a leather ball serious".
It's also a common griefer excuse. They are "teaching" people "not to take things too seriously", but that's a more deliberate excuse, and not a failure to comprehend the limits.
