ALT account closed down by LL

One of my alt accounts has been closed down by LL, The account had lots in the inventory as it was an account i used for both running a land bot and playing in SL.

The account has never done anything against the rules and had around 20000L in it.

Is there some new rule on ALT accounts I haven't seen?

They havent emailed you to say why ?

I should contact live support if I were you pretty quick....

I had one from Ewan Mureax, which never managed to buy anything so bought the more expensive ZG bot to try out, so now can I now add another 25000L to the loss?

I'm sure I'm not the only person who's resorted to selling a piece of land very cheap, either to reduce tier before the monthly deadline or perhaps to free up tier to buy a better piece of land. When I've done that, usually by pricing just below the lowest listed price, the land has been bought within seconds by a bot. So they can provide a useful service!

Did you pay for your alt? It could be as simple as that.

No. I'm not certain it's that either. I'm just saying it might have nothing to do with bots. Or it could have just been them investigating a bot and whether they found fault with the bot or not, finding it was an alt that wasn't paid for might cause them to shut it down. I dunno. I haven't heard of that. Was just tossing it out there as a possibility since I know you are supposed to pay for your alts.

How? There is no way to pay for an alt, short of opening a support ticket and demanding that LL take money from you. They disconnected every way we have of voluntarily paying the $9.95 USD fee per alt that is still technically on the books, and they admit they don't collect that unless someone is abusing their alts.

You're not supposed to pay for alts, so that won't be the reason. The bot won't be the reason either. You need to get in touch with support. It could be that there has been something financial that looked a bit iffy; e.g. you could have received some suspect money.

Was the bot premium or NPIOF?

LL should have notified you for a disciplinary action, at least. They won't detail the action other than lecture you about community standards.

Ahh. Okies. I never created an alt, I just remember reading that you were supposed to and tossed it out as an idea. That's all.

LL is bad about updating the website info. They haven't charged for alts for a long time. I started in Aug '07 and they weren't charging even then.

Just for clarity's sake:

1. Exactly how do you know it was "closed down"? What happened to make you think so? (That may be a clue as to what's wrong.)

2. Is the alt a Premium account? (probably so if it's buying land -- or you're intending to buy land with it)

3. Is your main paying Premium? if so, have you contacted the Concierge Desk?

Answer 1.) I was running the ZG landbot program when I saw it had logged out, tried to log it back in and it would not let me.
So I went to the SL account page and found it had been closed down by LL.
The character name that was Ely Bluebird also disappeared from my land group.

Answer 2.)The ALT is a basic account, that buys on behalf of the group, it just gets L$ sent to it so it can make the purchases of land.

Answer 3.) I have raised a support ticket, but my husband has the main tier paying account so he will have to contact concierge as my account is also a basic one now.



Would they notify me or the ALT account?
I don't know if the account was NPIOF or not, what is NPIOF?
It doesn't seem to exist at all now.

Could the problem be with exchanging money between accounts then? instead of the BOT possibly?
We transfer money between accounts to prevent having more than one paying account.

Yes, the money transfer can definitely be the issue. It may have tripped LL's Risk API

From what others have said here it usually does, once you explain the situation, and LL is convinced it isn't any sort of money laundering scenario.

I paid for my alts by making them premium for a month, because I wanted to be legit but couldn't find any other way of doing it.

I may do that if they reinstate Ely for me.
Does that make it less likely something like this will happen again?
I have noticed all my premium accounts are still active and they have been transfering money around aswell.

I have no idea, I did it because my overdeveloped sense of following the rules.

I don't know that it is really so much that they are premium, but the fact that they are premium means that there is Payment Info on file with LL, which makes it more legit in their eyes. You could possibly accomplish the same thing by simply adding payment info, maybe using it once or twice to buy L$.

BTW -- NPIOF means No Payment Info On File.
