A little while back, I was having some problems with building and stuff dissappearing...etc etc.... I logged into the support system, and within about 2 minutes, I was text chatting with Teeple, who spent about 15 or 20 minutes sorting out my various problems...

I'm glad that people are enjoying this "love in" about the Lindens. I didn't mention his name before, but I guess it's okay to say it was Leo who came and helped. Great mohawk, Leo!

Last week Torley Linden IMed me to let me know one of the displays in my shop was set to sell copy instead of contents like the rest. I tped down to fix it, and we chatted for a minute. I think I acted pretty normal even though in RL I woke up my boyfriend with my squeal of delight that Torley liked my work! hehe... So silly. You'd have thought it was my favourite movie star in the shop! He was very nice, but I don't think that's news to anyone.

Many good experiences...
I do remember Data Linden once be very patient with me and explaining about buying land for a group. Also do I remember a Linden (I cannot recall a name anymore) who had a very good laugh (and not in bad way) when I called for help. I lost an important item and I was convinced it was underground. So I made this huge pit on my land to look if I could find that item.... Carefully he explained about making the ground invisible .Morwen. |

So far, I don't think I've had anything happen that needed me to call on one of the Providers

For those that were in the game a few years back, will have no doubt, quite a few good experiences. Many Lindens would hold events in SL, especially around the welcome area. I've certainly had several good one on one techie talks with Lindens in general. They are always keen to see new innovations arriving in SL.
Its not unimaginable to think that back then, when accounts numbered in a few thousand, they could be seen participating more, but as time has gone by, they probably feel a little overwhelmed by the sheer size and numbers now ingame (hitting over 50,000). It must feel similar to the Board of Directors of IBM, going round meeting with its European Employees on a daily basis. With so much negativity in SL towards LL, it's hardly surprising they must feel less a part of this 'community' anymore. What we consider our second life, is their first... coming into game must be like a busmans holiday (for those that know the term). I have wondered if some of them go home and log in as Alts.. but I guess thats like being the Director of a company and taking the night watchmans job after work. Imagine having to watch EVERY word you say to anyone in SL? Must be like Big Brother in reverse. I visualise sometimes people at their place of work, when confronted with an internet issue, turning to eachother and giving a knowingly look and whispering 'It must be SL' without realising... _____________________

A few months ago I made everything on my island dissapear, oops mistake, touched wrong button *blush*. In a state of shock I phoned the congierge in the US (I'm in the Netherlands). OMG a real Linden on the phone! Ethan Linden it was. He cheered me up, we had a laugh, he did a rollback and within 15 minutes all was solved. YAY!

I've always found Spike Linden to be extraordinarily helpful and knowledgable. Really the whole concierge level thing is freaking amazing. The fact that I can chat a Linden and get them to reboot a sim or cleanup a spam attack within a few minutes is just amazing.

I haven't had any terrible experiences. I have had few encounters in spite I orginally joined in 2003.
When I had problem at the first of month with my account I called Linden Labs, the worse part of experience was I was having really hard time understanding the customer service representive. She was very patient and helpful. When mentioned I had some problems reactivating with my first account from beta that was born in 02/27/03 she reactivated him and when I asked if there were any fees she said she do it for free. |
