Holy crap. You are reading into the question WAY too much. It doesn't matter WHO they are! It's a question of what they do while they're "working".

Just because they can have a sexy pic in their profile or do it on voice doesn't mean it's not all fake. Any pic can be put up and plenty of voice changers out there. Only cams can guarantee the gender.

Going back to the OP, I would guess it's a mixture. Women/men at home wanting to make a bit on the side or pandering to fantasies as I can't see it worth a 'professional' using SL when could be doing the same elsewhere making far more.

Trust me, although I can't speak for all of them, the ones I know (and I have worked in several sl bordellos as the equivalent of the "piano player" they don't do it for any other reason than the money. Most of them have a set of pre-written scripts and their biggest problem is not repeating themselves too much with regulars.

Well, I can only speak from my own perspective and my (very short) time as an escort way back when.
