The always courteous Mrs. Showdog Tiger asked for the SLX link for the free mega-prims that I mentioned, and I thought it would be nice to share with others: http://slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=206333 There are actually several sets available on SLX, but I think this set includes all of the mega-prims. It includes a greater variety of sizes than is actually available, which are achieved through various cuts and such. It also includes a number of extra-tiny prims. Woo Hoo to Ava. I had some but not this collection. I'm almost frightened by how much power I have now Mwahaha |

The 'better' half just 'mucked' around with a few mega prims on our land, now after returning all objects it is showing as 1 prim on the land which does not show up in the refresh list, and there is like an invisible wall which we walk into, any ideas on how to get rid off this mega prim???

That happened on my privately owned island parcel. I asked the sim owner and he had to reset the island or something. Basically, everyone on the island had to leave it or be logged out and afterwards, the phantom prim was gone. |

Just worked with Mekkayla on this. It was bump-able, but invisible and "selected/sat upon", so it looks like a ghost-prim problem. She will be requesting a sim restart, and hopefully that will resolve the problem. ![]() |

mega prims also make great sculpties sometimes
I saw one done up as an atomic fireball mushroom cloud(animated too) I have one on my land as a mockup of the St Louis Arch. I'd suggest having them NOT physical. ps. Conan i can't believe you asked that... I'm rofl _____________________

yes thank you Ava for your help with that, the 'better' half is banned from mega prim usage in the future and will wait for lindens response to a rolling restart, or restarting the sim

Don't be surprised to find a Linden with nothing else to do happily deleting all your walls with no warning if you are on any mainland sims. When I asked him what he was doing his response was "Mega prims are not allowed on any mainland sims."
No warning. Nothing in the TOS about it. And when I asked him to point me in the direction of any information about mega prims he could not answer. Had I know that they were not allowed on mainland sims I would not have spend a few days building with them. So for mainland it's not allowed and for private sims I'm sure it's ok. I'd like to know why they are not allowed as he seemed to have no idea. |

Actually, they are CONDITIONALLY allowed on the mainland, and the smaller ones (50m and under) are used quite extensively.
The condition is that no one complains that your mega-prims are causing problems. If someone complains, the Lindens will evaluate it and possibly remove them. So you risk losing parts of your build, but that's it, because there is no official policy that completely forbids them on the mainland. Of course, some Lindens are not clear about that, as you have sadly discovered. ![]() |

Just giving some reference:
See post #13 in this thread: /327/f3/183213/1.html We don't really have an official policy regarding megaprims. But here's what you need to know: 1) Use them at your own risk. If they break something, we usually delete them on site and without notice. 2) In the event that you decide to use megaprims, please make them phantom. They cause far fewer problems. |

I am rolling here! I was just wandering about in a sandbox and stopped to talk to some guy happily building. He was all excited about these "monster prims" he'd found and offered to show me.
Before I could respond that I knew them and have often used them, he was suddenly WEARING one of the big suckers! I don't know if he clicked "wear" in his inventory or just rezzed it too close to himself, but damn it was funny. He was running around the sandbox screaming "omg omg, get it off me, how do I get it offfff me?!" Nothin' I could do, I was laughing too hard to even type! ![]() |

How do you make 'mega prims'? I'd find them useful for building (nothing massive only for floors etc that need to be up to 64 metres x 64m x 0.25 metres.

They were created a long time ago using a hack. That particular loophole has been closed, so no new ones can be made. The ones already created are still available though, and for free... see the link I provided earlier in this thread. ![]() |
