From: Treasure Ballinger Wow! You can get a bear if you sign up for Avaline now!:
First month free free voicemail for the rest of 2009 exclusive ***hula-dancing*** Linden bear for the first 500 subscribers
And, you can get as many Avaline codes as you want, for only:
Each connection code costs L$ 1500 if billed monthly, or L$ 1200 if billed annually (as a once-a-year payment of L$ 14,400). (That's a L$300 per month discount folks, if you pay annually, heh) *Listens for the sound of everyone running out to sign up.

From: RockAndRoll Michigan Not exactly. When I call you on the phone, if I have your phone number, I know I'm looking for the RL you. If I call Argent Stonecutter on the phone through Avaline, I don't know who you are in RL. But I don't have to, because I want to talk to this person in SL called Argent Stonecutter. This is going to become a very important distinction when the telemarketers get ahold of the numbers for the people who use it, in my opinion. And that's why I'll never sign up for it. Lindal never gets surveys, charities begging for donations, or political groups looking for contributions. She never gets calls from telemarketers. Instead, she gets group notice spam and group chat spam and IMs from her friends and everyone else under the Linden Sun. So why in the name of all that's holy would Lindal want all of her RL alt's calls, TOO? No, thank you.

From: Treasure Ballinger Me too. I'd rather have lag and griefers, than have Treasure getting phone calls from RL. *shudder* For sure - I come here to escape from RL; I'll be damned if I want it ringing me up here.

Lag I can endure. Griefers are fun to tweak. The phone has no redeeming features.

What's the advantage of Avaline over Skype, then? Other than the free bear, that is.

lol I don't think i would be leaping to be premium because of this Aviline or whatever it is called.. To make premium more desirable it would have to be something desirable to the majority.. I could think of a lot more things to waste that wish on hehehehe

From: LittleMe Jewell Therein lies one of the problems with benefits of Premium - what is a benefit to one is not worth an L$ to another. I have no desire for AvaLine -- free or not. I am with you on this one I signed up for the beta testing, and never used it, not once, and on my feedback that is exactly what I put, I never used it, not once, and can not find a use for it. The folks I would give my avaline number to, would be folks that I would trust with my phone number, so why would I have them call me in world when they could call me on the phone. I do not see a use for it as far as folks being able to call me while I am in SL, they can easily IM me... Now. some folks might love it and some might feel it is useful for businesses etc, but me... nope. (not the other way around, a way to call out of SL might be cool, but then again, we still have skype so... why?) added benefits for premium... how about tier done in a way that we do not have to pay so much for what would be a small amount (especially midway, what if I just want another 1024... instead of half a dang sim) or half price uploads, or a certain amount of uploads for free... or.... my gosh, what about a longer transaction history, instead of 30 days about about 90 days (or more)...

From: Rhaorth Antonelli or.... my gosh, what about a longer transaction history, instead of 30 days about about 90 days (or more)... This. Honestly, transactions are tiny little records, and cloud storage is absurdly cheap. There's just no goddamn reason on earth that these aren't kept forever, especially for Premium members because, by paying, we know they're very likely still around and might well benefit by being able to access that history. It's just dopey that we should have to run a cron job regularly to scrape the transactions page and grab that data before it falls into the bit bucket. If for some bizarre reason LL can't work an acceptable deal with Amazon nor find anywhere in their datacenters to shove a couple of network-attached storage complexes, then at the very least let us subscribe to a monthly email that sends it to us in XML or CSV or something, before they run the daily housecleaning job.

Do the people calling into the Avaline have to pay a premium rate on the call when they make it? A bit like the free fax to email services where the sender pays a premium rate to send the fax but the receiver gets it free while the fax company makes the money from the premium rates on the call minutes made by the sender?

I can understand that..my land line to my house is just for my internet ..all the people i want to talk to are on my cell speed dial... I come to SL to get away from all of them..i just don't see letting them call me in my escape lol

*headdesks* Ooookkkayyy... this is probably the most useless app ever LL.
If my friends want to call me, they can. I gave them my cell and home phone numbers. Bonus, I don't even NEED to be in SL for them to call me on those. Anyone else.. I honestly don't need to talk to via phone.
Even if they made it free for premium accounts, I would not use it. I have no need to use it.
Oh, right.. I forgot that the regular users aren't LL's customers... it's the corporations. Who might actually use this app...
