AvaLine Should Be FREE for PREMIUM ACCOUNT HOLDERS

In the remote change this is not a retorical question or someone is reading this that has litle experiance of what LL does with feedback..: Nah offcourse they don't notice, it does not fit their plans so it must be ignored.

as a premium account holder, I have no interest in AvaLine, even if they offered it for free. I have a landline which I have to have in order to get DSL in my area. I have a cell phone for long distance. if I want to voice in sl, I use Yahoo. there are so many other things LL could offer that I would be interested in, more groups, lower the fee for uploads, etc.

There may be a little misinformation in this thread...if you downgrade from Premium to basic, you do not lose your inventory. I downgraded, cancelled my account, reinstated a couple of weeks later and everything was there. I think people are referring to if your Premium account goes into arrears that the inventory loss can occur. Since LL can't even manage to take people's money reliably, this is a danger that should be addressed. A Premium can go into default through no fault of their own, and lose their stuff, and that is not right.

Premiums should get something for their money besides the dubious honor of owning Mainland. The ideas posted here are good ones to start..especially the discount on uploads. This Avaline thing is nonsense, giving it to everyone for free is inconsequential, it's valueless to most people I amagine. LL really needs to off people tangible and desired benefits for Premium sign up.

Probably worse if they do. This new Taka person might read the responses and talk to another Linden, who will immediately pass on the Official Linden View of all customers who are not businesses, educators, nor non-profits. That would be "Not of strategic interest; negative; not Tao-kosher."

This really points to how clueless LL is, and how out of touch they are with their customers...their REAL customers. This thingie is worthless to damn near all of us, it may be a nice gadget for a few, but that's about it. But once again, they are ignoring us for the people who they insist will be clamoring to use SL...but most likely are never going to come.

Wake the frack up, LL! Your profit base is here already.

I have a google voice number and it works just fine. And it is free.

My weekly stipend would pay for the service if I choose to use it. So old premium accounts that are getting 400 or more per week will not be out anything extra.

Not exactly. When I call you on the phone, if I have your phone number, I know I'm looking for the RL you. If I call Argent Stonecutter on the phone through Avaline, I don't know who you are in RL. But I don't have to, because I want to talk to this person in SL called Argent Stonecutter. This is going to become a very important distinction when the telemarketers get ahold of the numbers for the people who use it, in my opinion.

benefits of premium:
own mainland (meh rent estate and get better support)
stipend (ooo I get some of my cash back, but only within SL and it'll cost me to get it out)
expanded support options (considering the state of support I don't know why I list it)

negatives:
have your avatar locked down/deleted if payment gets screwed up (which happens all too often)

I have a friend (RL and SL) who keeps an eye on my sim, because I can only really be inworld evenings and weekends. So say, if I wanted to tell her something, she's inworld and I am not, I could call her on Avaline to contact her. Thus far I use Zonkster to accomplish this. Same thing though, yes? I would imagine that anyone who would call an inworld avatar, would also be a SL resident themselves, just not inworld at the moment? Oh never mind, I don't really see the point, lol.

If she is a RL friend, you can just call her in RL.

Wel, I suppose for people that like and use Voice, it may be a good perk. Personally, it wouldn't make Premium membership worth anything more for me at all, as I would never use it.

I dont know. I like and use voice very often in SL but I am pretty sure I wont be using that Avaline. Dont see they why of it.
