Did you ever do the traceroute thing I had suggested at one point? -- This may help to determine whether it's a network speed problem, or is elsewhere in the system. If you don't want to share your IP information, that's fine, I'm just interested in the times.
Another thing to try would be a network card that has known xp64 drivers, unfortunately, this involves actually spending money -- about $15us -- on something that may or may not work.
I know the Netgear FA311 is Realtek based, and I know Realtek keeps their drivers current. If you decide to try this, ignore the disk that comes with it, and download the drivers from Realtek's site. (I'm not a Realtek/Netgear shill, I just happen to have Realtek onboard and know it works)

but...

It's not realtek though, it's all nVidia. The board runs off the nForce drivers. As for the port thing, don't figure I need to, as I was using this board before the upgrade. I think it's just the dirivers, which isn't something I can fix right now. nVidia has always had lousy drivers, and it takes a long time for them to fix their driver related issues. SL is rezzing now, just takes a long time still. I mean, at least it's not like my Windlight issue which makes windlight unplayable. Things will get fixed eventually.

From: Fei Bourdeille Is anyone else here using Windows XP Pro x64 Edition? If so, are you having this issue too? I am...I'm having the same trouble as far as rezzing sculpties all of a sudden...started, maybe Friday (?)...I'm bad w/ timeframes ...anyway yeah sculpties are just jagged/sharp blobs for me most of the time...lighting is a lot less abundant, textures are a lot more blurry, Windlight is trash for me right now so I went back to the "default" client. ...then again my computer should be in a nursing home collecting disability with it's ATI Radeon 9800 and AMD Athlon XP 2400 Processor, lol ...with that said; I was running with almost NO lag, with music and sound on, and my Graphics Settings almost "all the way up" in November & December. Around that time all my friends with newer machines could barely move around the room in Windlight, and the snapshots they showed me almost sent me into seizures (or a 70's neon time-warp)...now it's the reverse, they can finally run around a room and I can't see my sculpties. This Client update has been one of the worst of all time for my box, but lucky for me the laptop is doin' fine

Weird...

Okay.. so maybe it's just SL then?
Just recently, my friend has been having issues with Windlight. Normally she's using it all the time, then suddenly yesterday it's going all black on her. I'm thinking it was the graphical tearing I've experienced before. Which makes no sense, as it just suddenly started happening to her out of the blue. My brother and his boyfriend (who live here and use the same DSL) have no issues what so ever.
I know some people that just can't rez sculpties, yet SL runs fine otherwise. I know some others that run beautifully in Windlight, but suffer in the normal viewer. Then for some the normal viewer is the only thing that will work right.
It's almost like it needs to be tackled case by case and just about nothing one person does fixes the issues for another.
This really frustrates me, because Mr. Warburton really went out of his way here to help me out with things he did that fixed the issues for him, but to no avail (well, it did fix the issue a bit, I mean it doesn't take as long to rez things now even though, in theory, I should be out rezzing people on a 6meg connection, running a dual-core and two 7900 GT in SLi)
Pretty much it seems to me that we'll just have to wait for another good client to come along, and then of course resume the waterworks when it's pushed aside by a shiny new client that seems to be missing a few "extra" parts and we all end up right back here again.
Oddly enough, I wouldn't trade SL for anything else out there.

This could mean something... or I could be crazy...

There is a log in SL that shows the image data being received (CTRL Shift 4). This log, for me, has a ton of failed requests. The requests are RequestImage and they are "reporting unknown circuits". The Circuits in question are addresses (ex. 64.129.42.58.13004) These messages FILL the log. The purpose for the log should be the record the data transfers, which my log does, but only on occasion. So, here is the issue, now if I could only understand what causes it.

Fei, why are you using XP64? I would've thought, if you wanted a 64 bit OS, you'd use Vista 64...from what I understand, XP64 is pretty much an orphan OS, and nobody's putting a lot of effort into supporting it.

Because Vista right now is even less supported. The support for XP 64 bit is fine, I haven't had any issues save for older software and hardware that is unsupported by the companies that made them and only still ran on regular XP because that is what they were made for. A friend of mine has Vista and all I hear from him is bitching. I think I got SL to work right, it didn't like being installed on my secondary hard drive, no big deal really. I'll post back if I have issues, but those error messages in the texture log are gone now.

Well, the idea was to disable the on-board ethernet and use an add-on ethernet card with known-working drivers. Sounds like you have it mostly figured out, though. I think I'll stick with my plan of continuing to avoid nForce. Current motherboard is all Intel, and other than a problem with supporting four 1066 DDR2 sticks, it's worked fine. Not that 1066 is officially supported anyways. I just underclocked it to 1000, which allowed me better timings anyways.

Yeah, I guess I have it figured out... to really test it, I'd have to install XP x86 on this rig and test it. See what happens, but like I said before; SL does weird things fro different people. A good example is my dad who is getting 0 frames per second no matter what we do. It doesn't make any sense as it worked before, but now, all of a sudden it doesn't. Nothing was changed, other than getting a new client. Then there is a friend of mine that is getting above 30 FPS just about constantly and his PC is not as fast as mine.

Solved

It was in fact the drivers for my motherboard. I got sick of Windows XP x64 and went back to normal XP. I installed the drivers for the board from nVidia and the same issue happened. SL barely rezzed just like it was before. So, I dug around and found the driver disk that came with my board, installed those and voila! So, I'm thinking it's either nVidia having crappy drivers (what else is new?) or there is some issue with this board that I can't really fathom.

Could be a slightly "off" implementation of the chipset.

Dunno, point is, thing work... sorta, but as soon as I have the money, I'm dumping this board.
